Osters v Landskrona
🏟
Saturday 8th October – 2:00PM KO
It was an extraordinary match day last week for the home team and they will be buoyant coming into this one. However, the visitors are also in good form, and this is expected to be an entertaining encounter for the neutral.
Osters, as mentioned, enjoyed a remarkable victory last week as they hammered previously relentless Brommapojkarna, who had won nine successive matches before that meeting, by four goals to one. That helped the home team narrow a gap that is already probably too wide between themselves in the Allsvenskan/Superettan promotion/relegation playoff place and Brommapojkarna in second and the automatic promotion spot.
The home team had been on an inconsistent run of form whereby they had won just one of their previous four matches in all competitions.
They now face a Landskrona side that come into this on the back of a comfortable 3-1 defeat of struggling Dalkurd in their most recent outing, last weekend. The visitors have now enjoyed back-to-back victories in which they have scored six goals and they have lost just one of their last eight matches, winning five of their last six in all competitions.
That run of form means they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the top-half of the table and eight points adrift of their upcoming opponents, Osters, with five games of the season to go.
Given the impressive outings these two had last weekend, this should be a fun game which Osters remain favourites for with their home advantage. Regardless, though, goals seem likely.

Brommapojkarna v Utsiktens
🏟
Sunday 9th October – 12:00PM KO
It was an extremely difficult match last time out for Brommapojkarna and they need to get back on track against an Utsiktens side that are enduring a far worse patch of form.
Under the management of Christer Mattiasson, Brommapojkarna have been generally outstanding in recent months and have made automatic promotion appear a formality, from what had been a push for mid-table mediocrity, following their promotion from the third-tier last season.
However, after nine successive victories in all competitions, they suffered a 4-1 loss at inconsistent but promotion challengers Osters on Tuesday. That result has closed the gap between the two sides to seven points with five games to go. So, Brommapojkarna will be confident of staying inside the top two and the automatic promotion spots, but they will need to put right that demolition from last week.
They now face an Utsiktens side that, as mentioned, are not playing well. Their most recent outing was a 2-0 loss at home to Vasteras last week, making it three successive defeats for the visitors.
That poor run of form means they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting firmly in the bottom-half of the table. They are now in serious danger of falling into the bottom three and the relegation playoff place and avoiding a bottom two finish is not entirely out of the question.
This one should be a bit of a formality as Brommapojkarna look to bounce back and continue their push towards Allsvenskan football in 2023, especially with their home advantage.

Ostersund v AFC Eskilstuna
🏟
Sunday 9th October – 2:00PM KO
Off-field issues have caused serious on-field issues for Ostersund with the club narrowly escaping liquidation within the last 12-18 months.
They were relegated from the top-flight last season after the glory days of Graham Potter quickly ended and, for the vast majority of the 2022/23 Superettan season, they have looked absolute certainties for back-to-back relegations and into the regional divisions – or, as stated with their financial issues, potential oblivion.
However, in the second half of this campaign, something has stirred. They come into this on the back of a goalless draw with top-of-the-table Halmstad, who are destined for an immediate return to the Allsvenskan. That impressive and respectable point has extended their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.
They begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting four points adrift of third-bottom OIS, who occupy the Superettan relegation playoff place.
They now face an AFC Eskilstuna side that were the early pace-setters in Sweden’s second division with four successive victories at the start of their campaign. However, they have been well below average since then.
The visitors come into this on the back of a 1-0 defeat at home to Orebro, making it three successive defeats for the away team as they sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table with little to play for.
Given the up turn in form of the hosts, their home advantage in this match, the motivation to win and give themselves a sniff of survival, as well as the shocking form of their opponents; it seems a good value bet to back Ostersund.
