Laporte is a real threat from set pieces for Spain and has had four shots at the World Cup so far, including two shots when we backed him for an effort against Austria earlier in the tournament. 

That display showcased the two avenues through which Laporte could get a shot away here. He had one effort from a corner, which was just off target, and also took a more speculative effort from outside of the box which flew well over the bar. That shot was actually from his own half. 

He took two shots across his three starts for Spain during qualifying, with these efforts mirroring those he had against Austria - one from outside the box and one headed effort. 

It’s clear that Spain look for Laporte from these situations as their main corner threat and I think he’ll get chances against a Belgium side that have only kept one clean sheet at the World Cup.

Spain have won 39 corners at the World Cup (7.8 per game), winning at least 6 in all five of their matches. This volume should give Laporte a decent chance of getting a shot away here. 

Laporte had 15 shots across his 24 starts during the 25/26 season in LaLiga (0.66 per 90), and also averaged 1.11 shots per 90 across his 18 starts in the Saudi Pro League the season prior - scoring four goals in the process.
