Osei-Tutu is a versatile player who can play as a wingback on either side and also in midfield areas which gives him an important role in this Bolton side for the upcoming season. Stockport lined up with wingbacks in 26 of their 46 games in League One last campaign (56%) so we can expect them to utilise them again this season which is something Bolton may look to match up with Osei-Tutu offering a key role as a wingback.

When Stockport switched away from their three and five at the back shapes which included wingbacks, they tended to pack the midfield and operate in quite a narrow shape - this would also offer opportunities for Tutu to act as an outlet in the wide areas if Bolton can’t get any joy trying to break through the middle of Stockport.

Osei-Tutu had 26 shots across his 32 appearances for Bolton in League One last season. He only started 15 of these games but came more into favour in the latter stages of the campaign under Steven Schumacher who should continue to trust the Arsenal academy product this season. Nine of his starts were as a defensive midfielder which would still see Tutu have a solid chance of finding the target - he had seven shots across these nine appearances as a defensive midfielder last season.

Osei-Tutu lined up as a left back in the most recent head to head meeting between Stockport and Bolton back in March. He had one shot in the game and created more chances than any other player (4). He was also fouled more times than any other player (4), Stockport played with four midfielders in that clash and Tutu was a reliable outlet as an attacking fullback which his underlying numbers from that game would support.

There is real value with this selection when backing with Bet365, the same market is priced as short as 1.14 with other major bookmakers. Tutu’s versatility should be a positive indicator for this bet, his numbers from last season would suggest that he should be able to get into shooting positions regardless of if he lines up as a wingback or a defensive midfielder in this clash.
