Fiorentina v Bologna
🏟
Sunday 13th March – 11:30AM KO
Recent Derby dell’Appennino meetings haven’t been kind to Bologna, and they’re likely to be up against it again on Sunday as they make the short trip to Tuscany to take on Fiorentina. La Viola are unbeaten against Sunday’s visitors since 2013/14, winning nine and drawing six since then.
With their previous Serie A clash this season ending 3-2 at the Dall’Ara in December, Sinisa Mihajlovic will be aware of the threat La Viola pose.
Although Susan Vlahovic’s January exit was expected to hit Fiorentina hard, the Serbian’s placement Krzysztof Piatek has hit the ground running, and Vincenzo Italiano’s side will be hoping he can continue his good form since his winter arrival. Since coming in, he’s scored six times across all competitions, bettered only by Ciro Immobile and Tammy Abraham in that time.
Bologna, meanwhile, have more than their fair share of problems and have lost three of their last four on the road, drawing the other. Mihajlovic is often criticised for being too negative with the players he has at his disposal, and that is reflected by the fact that they’ve failed to score in four Serie A games this calendar year, with only Genoa not netting in more matches.
Although Fiorentina are winless in three, Bologna have just one win in 2022 and La Viola will back themselves to get back on track in Florence on Sunday.

Verona v Napoli
🏟
Sunday 13th March – 2:00PM KO
Perhaps the toughest to call of all of this weekend’s Serie A games comes at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, where one of Italy’s lesser-known rivalries plays out with Napoli visiting Verona.
Having seen their title hopes take a blow in last week’s loss to AC Milan, Napoli would have hoped for an easier task than to travel to Verona in their subsequent outing, particularly with the Gialloblu fourth in the form table for results in 2022 and unbeaten in their last four – including draws with both Roma and Fiorentina.
Although their home form temporarily dipped through December – failing to win in four straight games there – Verona have proven tough opposition for a number of sides at the Bentegodi this season, drawing with Fiorentina and claiming memorable wins over Roma, Lazio, and Juventus.
Goals appear to be a guarantee here, with both teams having scored in all but three of their 14 games there this season – the exceptions being 4-0 wins over Spezia and Udinese, and a scoreless draw with Cagliari.
Napoli, too, have lost a bit of their defensive solidity after a watertight start to the season. Prior to their 1-0 loss to Milan, both teams had scored in each of their five most recent games across all competitions.

Atalanta v Genoa
🏟
Sunday 13th March – 5:00PM KO
Atalanta fans would have breathed a collective sigh of relief on Thursday night as they watched their side come from behind to beat Bayer Leverkusen in a rather chaotic 3-2 win in Bergamo, but not because of the result. Gian Piero Gasperini’s side haven’t looked themselves of late, but they were back to their free-flowing best in attack against the Germans.
But Genoa will present a very different challenge as they make the trip from Liguria on Sunday evening, and Alexander Blessin has brought solidity since succeeding Andriy Shevchenko in charge of the Grifone.
Genoa have drawn each of their last six in Serie A, and only one side in the last 30 years have drawn seven in a row – Inter under Roberto Mancini in 2004. Of those six draws, four have been goalless and only against Salernitana and Venezia have goals been scored – both ending 1-1.
Atalanta, though, will want to do what neither Roma nor Inter could against the Grifone and score, buoyed by Luis Muriel and Ruslan Malinovskyi finding their shooting boots and some cohesion in midweek. Domestically, though, they haven’t found any rhythm in 2022 and five of their eight Serie A outings have seen fewer than 2.5 goals scored.

Udinese v Roma
🏟
Sunday 13th March – 5:00PM KO
Having seen Udinese hold AC Milan at the Stadio San Siro recently, Roma will be aware of the threat the Zebrette pose as they make the trip to Friuli Venezia Giulia on Sunday evening, despite history being on the Giallorossi’s side.
Roma have won 15 of their last 17 Serie A meetings with Udinese, losing the other two. Although they’ve kept 10 clean sheets in that time and haven’t conceded to the Friuliani in 282 Serie A minutes, there’s something unreliable about them.
In as many as eight of Roma’s last 12 games, at least one player has been sent off. In three of those, two players have seen red, with each player going a man down on two occasions. Jose Mourinho’s side themselves had a red card when the two sides met earlier this season, and a red card at the Dacia Arena is likely.
Should that come, at least one of these sides is going to be weakened which makes goals all the more likely in this one. Both teams have scored in all but five of Udinese’s 13 home Serie A matches this term.
If Roma are to score, then Tammy Abraham is likely to play a part, having hit the ground running in his first season in Italy. He has also scored the first goal of the match eight times this season, more than anybody else in Europe’s top-five leagues.

Torino v Inter
🏟
Sunday 13th March – 7:45PM KO
It’s hard to avoid the feeling that Inter are visiting the Stadio Olimpico to take on Torino at just the right time for Simone Inzaghi’s men, even despite their Champions League elimination against Liverpool in midweek.
The champions have rebounded some form after going five games without a goal and their recent wins over Salernitana (5-0) and Liverpool (1-0) have shown that there’s still plenty of life left in their attempted title defence.
Torino, meanwhile, have slipped into a rotten run that has perhaps gone under the radar because of their spirited 1-1 draw with Derby della Mole rivals Juventus in mid-February and Andrea Belotti’s return to fitness. The fact is, though, that after back-to-back wins to start 2022, Toro are winless in their last six in Serie A – drawing three and losing three.
Having had an impressive home record until the turn of the year, Ivan Juric’s side have won just one of their last four in front of their own supporters, drawing to Sassuolo before losing to two relegation-threatened sides in Venezia and Cagliari.
For all their recent issues in attack, Inter have kept four straight clean sheets and they’ll be expecting to add a fifth in Piemonte on Sunday night.

Prediction: Both Teams to Score – No, 1.87 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
Lazio v Venezia
🏟
Monday 14th March – 7:45PM KO
If nothing else, Venezia’s visit to the capital to take on Lazio is likely to throw up a lot of fun, at least for neutral viewers. With the Arancioneroverde perhaps the most entertaining of the relegation battlers this season and Lazio being a guarantee of goals.
Maurizio Sarri’s side have seen over 2.5 goals scored in seven of their last eight games, and have almost always packed a punch this term even when results haven’t necessarily gone the way they’d have hoped.
Venezia’s own recent outings have tended to produce goals, with over 2.5 being scored in four of their last five.
The Biancocelesti should come out on top over their visitors on Monday night, and are unbeaten in their last four top-flight clashes with Venezia, winning each of their last two. In 10 home games against the Venetians, Lazio have never lost.
Although the odds are stacked against Venezia on Monday, they’ve already won three times on the road this season, a record they’ve only bettered once in their top-flight history – winning four away from home in 1942/43 – and Lazio have won just two of their last seven Serie A matches at the Olimpico, drawing three and losing two.
