Vasteras v Dalkurd
🏟
Sunday 23rd October – 12:00PM KO
With just three games to go, this is a huge game in the battle to avoid relegation down to the third and regional tier of Swedish football.
Vasteras come into this on the back of a 1-0 defeat away to Landskrona in their most recent outing, last week. The home team had been in some half-decent form, relative to their season so far. However, that loss means they remain well in trouble.
They currently sit one place outside of the bottom three, with Norrby sitting third-from-bottom in the relegation playoff place. They are three clear of Norrby and six clear of Dalkurd, who sit in the bottom two and the automatic relegation spots.
Dalkurd, though, are their upcoming opponents. That means that if the visitors were to defeat Vasteras, the gap between the two sides would be just three points with two matches left in the 2022 Superettan season.
The away team come into this on the back of a well-timed, much-improved run of form. Their most recent outing was a 1-1 draw at home to fellow struggling improvers Ostersund last weekend.
That draw means they are now on a run of just one defeat in their last four matches. They remain in a very difficult predicament but have shown signs of life in the run-in.
Only one team have conceded more goals in the Superettan this season than Dalkurd and that team is, indeed, Vasteras. Given that, as well as a need and desire to win for both teams with a lot on the line, this should be quite an intriguing and entertaining clash for the neutral.

J-Sodra v Norrby
🏟
Monday 24th October – 6:00PM KO
Despite both sides having played a lot of their football sitting firmly in mid-table throughout the 2022 Superettan campaign, neither are completely assured of second division survival with just three games of the season to go.
Jonkopings Sodra earned an important goalless draw away at Orgryte IS last weekend, in a game that was crucial for neither team to lose for fear of being dragged further into the mire. They currently sit 11th in the table but just four points above the team in the relegation playoff place.
The team in that aforementioned relegation playoff place is their upcoming opponents, Norrby. The visitors’ most recent outing was a 3-0 hammering at the hands of soon-to-be automatically promoted Brommapojkarna last week.
The home team’s goalless draw against OIS has extended a relatively good and steady run of form as they seek to stumble their way to mathematical safety before the final game of the season. J-Sodra have now lost just one of their last nine matches and two of their last 13. Those two defeats have come against Brommapojkarna and Halmstad, who appear certain for automatic promotion.
Norrby, on the other hand, have struggled badly with their form and actually come into this on the back of that aforementioned Brommapojkarna defeat making it three defeats and a draw in their last four matches.
Given the form of the two sides, as well as the home advantage for J-Sodra, it would seem favourable and sensible to back them in this one.
