Mavropanos has committed three fouls across his four Premier League appearances this season with at least one foul committed in two of these appearances (0.75 per 90). He’s lining up against his former club here which always brings a bit of extra fight out of players and his clash against Viktor Gyokeres stands out to me here.

Gyokeres loves to pin centre backs and muscle them out of the game, it’s one of his strongest attributes and has led to the Arsenal striker winning seven fouls across his six Premier League appearances this season (1.29 per 90) with these fouls coming across games against Leeds, Manchester United and Liverpool.

Mavropanos struggled in a similar duel against Chris Wood against Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago and contested 10 duels against Mateta in a recent clash against Crystal Palace. West Ham’s defence have struggled to deal with balls into the box which is where Arsenal excel so you would expect the centre back to put up similar duel and foul numbers as he did in those encounters.

Mavropanos committed 17 fouls across his 21 Premier League starts last season (0.75 per 90) and can be forced into making a foul against his former club with his 1v1 duel with Gyokeres expected to throw up a few fouls in this encounter. Mavropanos didn’t start in this fixture last season but the Hammers committed 15 fouls at the Emirates in their 1-0 win over Arsenal. Mavropanos’ most recent game against Arsenal was in West Ham’s 2-0 win over the Gunners at the Emirates a few seasons ago in which he scored and committed a foul.

There is real value with this selection when backing with Bet365, the same market is priced as low as 1.44 with other comparable bookmakers which is a more accurate pricing given Mavropanos’ foul record this season and potential opponent here.
