Manchester United are always one of the teams at the forefront of the transfer season. They are a big spending club and are always linked with multiple different players across the window. The Man Utd transfer odds are always ones we look out for, this is because of the prominence of the club. It feels like any player can be linked to United.
They have completed their first signings of the summer already in Mason Mount from Chelsea and Andre Onana from Internazionale. Mount’s transfer has been confirmed by the club and he’s made his club debut in a pre-season match.
Onana’s transfer is all but completed. Reputable journalist Fabrizio Romano has given his infamous ‘here we go’ which indicates that the deal is complete. As soon as this one is over the line, United will be ready to look at other targets. Rasmus Hojlund is the next on the list and is the most likely according to the Man United transfer odds.

Kolo-Muani to lead ten Hag’s attack?
The other problem area for United is the striker position. They have neglected to sign a long-term striker for many years now and have instead attempted to plug the position with retirement-age players on short-term deals.
This is yet to end well for United and it seems now they are finally changing their approach. They have been linked with a lot of forwards and one of them that could potentially sign is Randal Kolo-Muani.
The Frankfurt forward has been absolutely fantastic in his breakout season. He earned a place in France’s World Cup squad and features heavily during the tournament. He was also just a goal and assist away from ranking the highest in both stats in the Bundesliga last season. Bringing in another player who is capable of goal involvements would be fantastic for United.
Antony and Sancho are both brilliant players but the pair struggle to convert their excellent play into goal involvements. This means they rely heavily on Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes to find the net.
Kolo-Muani would be a great alternative to Rashford, he offers a similar style of play. The two are both excellent ball carriers and rank in the high percentiles for passing and dribbling. The Man Utd transfer odds for Kolo-Muani are 10/3, with ten Hag’s side being touted as one of the favourites to sign him. The reported fee would be close to €100m.
Rasmus Hojlund to become a Red?
Keeping on the theme of strikers, the next player on the Man Utd transfer odds we have to discuss is Rasmus Hojlund. He is a Danish striker who currently plays his football in Italy for Atalanta. United have been heavily linked with him and are expected to lodge a bid for the striker in the region of £50m.
If you’ve never heard of Hojlund, here is a rundown of how he plays. He is a typical back-to-goal striker who loves spinning in behind and firing shots past keepers. The Danish international is blessed with tremendous two-foot finishing ability, a fabulous trait for any striker. He is immensely fast and has a brilliant attacking IQ, meaning he finds himself in the position for a tap in a lot.
He is just 20 years old and has bags of potential. He is definitely a player that could spend at least 5 seasons at the club if he lives up to his potential. As we’ve mentioned, United have often been caught in the rap of short-term fixes. Signing a player of Hojlund’s youth who is also at a high level would be a massive step in the right direction.
United are heavy favourites to do this deal and this largely comes down to Hojlund’s own admiration of the club. He has said multiple times that he dreams of one day playing for Manchester United.
Now that you ask, I will not hide the fact that I am a huge Man United fan. So, personally, it [playing for MUFC] would be one of the biggest things for me.’’
Rasmus Hojlund on his admiration for Manchester United
His Man United transfer odds are at 8/11 with Juventus following behind at 4/1. Do you think Rasmus will be red by September?
Moises Caicedo to finally be wreathed in red
Moises Caicedo is a player who has been looking for a move away from his current club Brighton since the January transfer window. He submitted a transfer request in an attempt to force a move to Arsenal but Brighton refused to accept their £70m bid.
Since the beginning of the summer, more clubs have been monitoring the midfielder, the main two being Manchester United and Chelsea. United are long-time admirers of Caicedo and were close to signing him from Independiente back in January of 2021 for just £5m. The deal didn’t go through and he instead signed for Brighton.
Since then, he has been brilliant for the Seagulls. Graham Potter first deployed him as an advanced number 8, a gritty ball winner who can carry the ball and pass it very well. He has been likened to N’Golo Kante and Fred. His pass completion is fantastic, as he completes 88% of his passes per 90 and attempts 64.
This transfer looked a lot more likely before United signed Mount but there is still a good chance we see talks open between the clubs. Chelsea are currently frontrunners to sign the Ecuadorian but they have just had a £70m bid rejected.
Harry Maguire to stay or go?
Harry Maguire has been making headlines recently and as a result there has been a boost in his Man United transfer odds. The England international released a statement recently announcing that Erik ten Hag has decided to replace him as captain of the club.
This news has sparked more speculation around his future at the club. It’s no secret that he’s no longer first choice and if he wants to secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s EURO 2024 squad he may need to look elsewhere for regular football. According to the Man United transfer odds, West Ham, Spurs and Newcastle are the most likely suitors if he was to leave the club.
The manager today has informed me that he is changing captain… I’m personally extremely disappointed but I will continue to give my all every time I wear the shirt.
Harry Maguire on losing captaincy of Manchester United
The most likely scenario as of right now is him staying, the former captain is reportedly reluctant to lower his wages in order to move elsewhere. A loan with an option to buy could be a way around this. Only time will tell how this one will play out.
