Andy's Saturday Accumulator @ 4.17

Tranmere’s games have League Two’s highest percentage of both teams scoring, with 75% of matches covering this bet. They host league leaders Bromley here, with the hopes of banishing a poor home result last time out, a 1-3 lost to manager-less Barrow. They have failed to win four of their last five games at Prenton Park, with just a single goal victory over Fleetwood their sole success in that period.

Andy Woodman’s Bromley have won six games in a row, taking full advantage of a kind looking fixture list where they faced three of the bottom five. They will, as always, be looking to take advantage of set pieces, from which they average an incredible in 0.83 goals per game. Tranmere concede 5.83 shots per game from set pieces, which is the second highest tally in the league.

I think Celtic will get back to winning ways when they play host to Dundee United on Saturday. Wilfried Nancy’s ill-fated reign as Celtic boss was brought to an end in the wake of last week’s 3-1 loss to Rangers, with Martin O’Neill swiftly brought back on an interim basis a little over one month after leaving the club.

O’Neill was in temporary charge following Brendan Rodgers’ dismissal earlier in the campaign, and his first stint saw him steer the Glasgow heavyweights to an impressive seven wins from eight. The legendary Celtic boss’ return will give the whole club a massive lift and I would expect the Hoops to go on another winning run, starting on Saturday at home to Dundee United.

Jim Goodwin’s side come into this clash after suffering a disappointing 1-0 loss when hosting arch-rivals Dundee last weekend. The Terrors now look to be heading to Celtic Park at the worst possible time and another defeat appears likely.

I’m expecting goals at both ends when East Kilbride square off with Spartans in a huge top-of-the-table clash in Scottish League Two on Saturday afternoon.

Following last week’s postponement, East Kilbride now find themselves eight points adrift of league leaders Spartans, albeit with a game in hand. Irrespective of that, Mick Kennedy’s men will have to go all out for victory here to try to keep their title hopes alive. That should set the stage for a goal-heavy game, something that has been commonplace in East Kilbride’s matches this season, with both teams to score looking well worth siding with.

There have been goals at both ends in 12 of EK’s 18 league games this season, including six of their nine outings in front of their own supporters. Similarly, both teams have netted in 12 of Spartans’ 19 Scottish League Two matches this term, with this selection paying out in each of their last six away games.

On top of that, both teams scored in each of the previous two meetings between the pair this season, further strengthening the case for a repeat in South Lanarkshire on Saturday.

Alkmaar contested a seven goal thriller against Fortuna Sittard last time out that they ended up on the wrong side of, as the home side came away 4-3 winners. Alkmaar did more than enough to win the game when looking at the xG battle (4.06-1.38), and also missed a penalty during the game.

Alkmaar have seen 3+ goals in four of their last five matches across all competitions, losing just one of these games, which was that hectic 4-3 defeat last time out. They take on a Volendam side that have seen 3+ goals in three of their last five matches across all competitions, notably winning just one of their last five games.

The initial league meeting between these sides produced four goals as they played out a 2-2 draw. Just like Alkmaar’s most recent game, they dominated the underlying numbers but were unable to see out the contest. Alkmaar have only lost one of their seven home games in the Eredivise this season, with these games producing 33 goals (18 scored, 15 conceded - 4.71 per game). Volendam are yet to win on the road in the Eredivisie this term, but are likely to get chances here with Alkmaar’s issues when it comes to killing off matches.

Andy's SPFL Boosted Double @ 2.30

Motherwell look overpriced to me going into their clash away at Hibernian on Saturday, and that makes the visitors an attractive option to find the net at least once.

Motherwell’s brand of football under Jens Berthel Askou this season has earned widespread plaudits, and they possess the attacking threat to make their mark in the capital. Moreover, the Steelmen will come into this contest having won three of their last four Scottish Premiership matches, the most notable of which was a dominant 2-0 win over Celtic. It’s also worth noting that Motherwell have failed to score in only five of their 21 Scottish top-flight fixtures this season, striking twice in a 2-0 win when hosting Hibs in late November.

While the Hibees have won their last three league matches, they conceded two goals in a recent home game with Hearts and also failed to keep relegation-threatened Kilmarnock quiet last weekend, which further strengthens the case for in-form Motherwell to make the net bulge at Easter Road.

Another team that I’m keen to back to score at least one goal this weekend is Montrose when they travel to Clackmannanshire to face Alloa. After a slow start to the season, Montrose have hit a good run of form in recent weeks, winning four of their last five league matches, including a notable 2-1 victory over title favourites Inverness last time out.

Alloa, in contrast, are in the midst of a sticky patch, having posted just one win across their last seven Scottish League One fixtures, coming away empty-handed from two of their last four games. The most concerning result for the Wasps across that seven-game stretch was last weekend’s 1-1 draw with a struggling Kelty Hearts side who are propping up the third tier table. Now facing a Montrose team that is beginning to motor, the visitors look well placed to find the net at least once at Recreation Park.
