I’d be surprised if HARRY JUNIOR was not able to improve on handicap debut, from a lowly mark of 81. The Doyen five-year-old has potential progress now upped to 2m4f, especially hailing from this shrewd yard, and a first-time tongue-tie also be a catalyst for improvement.
AERIAL SILK must be seriously respected, following a pair of promising efforts over 7f at Haydock. The Bated Breath colt was caught wide on debut and ran on well next-time-out, when keeping on nicely. He has appeared capable of landing a novice event and it would be no surprise if winning this.
MR WONKA is definitely high up in the list of likely contenders, following three career outings. He couldn’t build on an encouraging Sandown fourth on debut, when downfield on soft ground at Doncaster.
A subsequent runner-up position at Newcastle was a bounce back to form, and he is definitely worth considering on handicap debut from an opening mark of 76. His proximity to a now-rated 99 horse on first run suggests he is a well-handicapped individual.
Recent course-and-distance winner LOVE YOUR WORK must be of interest, despite this being a competitive handicap over a mile.
The Helmet gelding is up 4lb for that success and he is still well treated on old form (has won from an 11lb higher mark). He has a handy low draw for a prominent racer, coupled with the fact his rider is 2-2 on him.
