Free-scoring Tottenham Hotspur look to continue their great Premier League form as they host Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Spurs have been spectacular recently with Aston Villa the latest team to feel the sting of Spurs lethal attack. Brighton will be looking to get back-to-back wins in North London after frustrating Arsenal at the weekend, which did Spurs a favour as they leapfrogged their fierce rivals into the top 4.
Conte is doing wonders with the Lilywhites since arriving, putting his stamp on things at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after bringing in a couple of January signings which have rejuvenated Spurs. He also seems to be getting the best out of Heung-Min Son who is flying in the Premier League. The South Korean took his tally to 17 in the league after netting a hattrick against Aston Villa, so he goes into this with his confidence sky-high.
Graham Potter’s side returned to winning ways on Saturday, gaining 3 points for the first time in 7 games. It looks to be a solid midtable finish for Brighton, but they will be disappointed with their recent form, and will look to rectify this in their last 7 games.
A blow for Conte will be the loss of Matt Doherty who has done well as a wing back this season, but with the likes of Sessegnon and Reguilon ready to step up in his absence, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem for Spurs.
I have created a lower odds bet coming in at around 7.25 on Paddy Power if you fancy a bet builder for this early kick-off game on Saturday. Take a read of my research below before backing and find a pre-match Cheat Sheet to help with your own selections.
Tottenham Hotspur v Brighton Bet Builder Tips
Tottenham Hotspur to Win
Spurs will be looking for their 5th win on the bounce here, and I am backing them to do just that. Conte’s side have been scoring goals for fun recently, scoring 25 goals in their last 7 games. They have scored 2 or more goals in 8 of their last 10 games and I think Brighton will really struggle with their attacking threat. Since Kulusevski came in, Spurs have formed a formidable trio and have been firing on all cylinders as they battle it our for a top 4 finish.
The hosts have won their last 3 home games, scoring 13 goals in the process. Recent results have seen them punish poor defensive performances, putting 5 past both Newcastle and Everton.
Spurs are the 4th highest scorers in the league, averaging 1.8 goals scored per game. Brighton on the other hand, concede 1.2 goals on average per game whilst only scoring 0.9 per game so it looks as if Spurs should manage to get the job done.
Brighton come into this on the back of an impressive away win, but their form before last weekend has been atrocious. Only 3 goals scored in their last 8 games, conceding 2 or more goals in 6 of these whilst drawing to bottom of the table Norwich in a 0-0 stalemate before beating Arsenal.
Looking at head-to-head stats, Spurs have won 4/5 of their last meetings and came out on top just a month ago as they eased passed Brighton in the reverse fixture. Spurs also sent Brighton packing in the FA Cup earlier this season as Brighton’s poor record against Spurs away from home continued. The Seagull’s haven’t beaten Spurs in an away fixture since 1981!

Prediction: Tottenham Hotspur to Win
Son Heung-Min to Score or Assist
This selection probably takes little convincing with Son’s current form. The South Korean will have an eye on the Golden boot as he sits just 3 goals behind Salah thanks to his hattrick at the weekend, and Spurs are showing no signs of slowing down in the goalscoring department. With Kane the main penalty taker for Spurs, it means none of Son’s goals have come from the spot and he sits top of the Premier League scoring charts for non-penalty goals, showing his influence from open play.
Son has 17 goals and 6 assists in 28 games, meaning he averages a goal contribution every 0.8 games. Son has six goals in his last 3 games with 1 assist added to that impressive run of form too. He has also been enjoying his recent fixtures at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, grabbing 4 goals and 1 assist in his last 3 games on home soil.
Sons xG + xA per 90 sit at 0.72, so there is a pretty decent chance that he will help his side again here. With Spurs high scoring form, I expect them to get on the score sheet a few times here and I am pretty confident that Son will have something to do with it. With the form he’s in, this looks great value at 1.67.

Prediction: Son Heung-Min to Score or Assist
Yves Bissouma to be Shown a Card
The final selection of the bet builder looks at one of the Premier Leagues most hot-headed players. Bissouma is the joint highest player for yellow cards this season with 9 so far! This stat is even more crazy knowing that the midfielder has only started 20 matches, with 1 appearance from the bench, meaning he averages a yellow every 2.3 games!
With Spurs utilising Harry Kane down the middle, with him dropping deeper to pick out the likes of Son and Kulusevski, it is likely that him and Bissouma will likely come head-to-head on more than one occasion. Not only does Kane average 1.9 fouls per game, but he is also one of the most dangerous forwards in the league so I could see Bissouma becoming frustrated. It looks to be a feisty midfield battle too with two fierce sides clashing in the middle as Bissouma lines up against Hojbjerg and Bentancur.
Bissouma found himself in the book last time out as the whole Brighton midfield 3 were shown a yellow in their outing at Arsenal. Bissouma picked up a yellow after committing 4 fouls, emphasising his love for a meaty challenge in the middle of the pitch. Bissouma was also shown a yellow in his last game on International duty after committing 2 fouls.
Brighton as a team aren’t the most disciplined, they sit 5th in fouls committed with 10.65 per game which has seen them pick up the 4th most yellows this campaign, with the Malian midfielder playing a big part in this.
We could see a few yellows going Brighton’s way on Saturday with Craig Pawson averaging 4.19 yellow cards shown per game.
