Despite a playoff place already being confirmed, Wales will be very keen to secure 2nd placed in Group E as they host the worlds number 1 ranked side tonight in Cardiff tonight. I have had a scan of the Bet Builder market for this one and there looks to be plenty of value and using my own research and trusty Cheat Sheet I have come up with my three favourite selections for the game this evening.
Wales v Belgium Bet Builder Tips
Aaron Ramsey to have 1+ Shots on Target
Due to Gareth Bale being the darling of Welsh football, I think over the years the quality and importance of Aaron Ramsey to the Welsh National team can be somewhat underplayed. His brace in the 5-1 win over Belarus at the weekend took his goals tally for the National team to 20. He is a regular getter of goals as he showed during his pretty prolific 11 years at Arsenal where he bagged 65 goals despite struggling on numerous occasions with very serious injury.
He will be the main goal threat for the Welsh tonight as he was against Belarus with Rob Page confirming Bale won’t be involved tonight and he hasn’t been included in the 23 man squad for this one. He is very generous odds of 1.8 against a pretty depleted Belgian side who are missing a host of important players and I feel he will be granted with an opportunity or two this evening. His Cheat Sheet stats are pretty impressive too where he averages 0.85 shots on target per game from the 2.98 shots he attempts. In the absence of Bale he will be allowed even more attacking freedom and he looks great odds to kick things off for us here.
Kevin De Bruyne to have 1+ Shots on Target
Another very recognisable name for my second selection in tonight’s bet builder as my attention turns to Belgium star Kevin De Bruyne. He is one of few star players who Belgian who have managed to keep in the squad following numerous drop outs. Eden Hazard, Romelu Lukaku, Thibaut Courtois and Youri Tielemans are just some of the names missing out here but De Bruyne is set to keep his place in the side.
He will be one of the more experienced members of the starting 11 tonight and may even be handed the armband in the absence of Eden Hazard. He will of course be the first man on set-pieces too and will be very likely be on both penalty and FK duty for Belgium. Similarly to Ramsey, he will be a key man for his side tonight and I fancy him to have plenty of the ball and have plenty of opportunities to get a shot off. His Cheat Sheet stats are also pretty impressive and I fancy him to get one on target for us tonight.
Axel Witsel to be Carded
We finish with a card and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Axel Witsel is the standout for me in this one. He is a truly wonderful player but now 32, he isn’t quite as sharp and dynamic as he once was and can sometimes rely on a foul or two to gain the upper-hand on his opponent. He will likely directly come up against Harry Wilson, Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen who are three of the most fouled players in the Wales squad as you can see by referencing my Cheat Sheet.
He ranks high on the Cheat Sheet too for both fouls committed and yellow cards and that further adds to why I see him as the perfect candidate. 4 yellows in his last 11 Belgium appearances is pretty good going too and lets hope he can add another to his tally tonight. Worth noting too that Portuguese referee Artur Dias is pretty handy with the cards and he is averaging 4.33 YCPG going into this one.
