Crystal Palace v Man City
📅
Kick Off: Saturday 7th December at 15:00
🏆
Competition: Premier League
Southampton come to Villa Park desperate for a shock result that could spark a turnaround in their dismal season so far. Meanwhile, Aston Villa will be aiming to build on their recent victory over Brentford and regain some much-needed momentum.
⭐ Crystal Palace v Man City Best Bet
The issues that Manchester City have had recently are well publicised but there has perhaps been an overreaction. They were as short as a -1.5 handicap to beat Forest at home in midweek and they duly delivered a comfortable 3-0 win. The garden is not suddenly rosy but it was a much better performance and City used their experience of playing regular midweek games to their advantage.
The injury situation has also improved with the return of key playmaker Kevin De Bruyne especially a major boost. He scored and assisted vs Forest and looked a serious menace. Suddenly the likes of Jack Grealish are back fit and Jeremy Doku back in contention.
City should be beating a Palace side who have only won two games all season. The hosts claimed a midweek win 1-0 at Ipswich but this is a much bigger challenge vs a hungry and motivated Manchester City who want to prove a point.
The visitors are certainly not over their blip yet but the odds on offer are far more generous compared to usual and there has been an overreaction to their form.
🟢 Crystal Palace v Man City #OddsOnThat Tip
Erling Haaland averages 4.44 shots per 90 52% accuracy. He has registered an average of over 2 shots on target per game in the Premier League.
Kevin De Bruyne is more difficult to judge because he has been injured for most of the season. He started against Forest in midweek and fired in 5 shots with 3 on target.
Haaland drew an impressive four fouls against Forest in midweek. He is a big physical striker who can be tough to handle. Haaland only averages 0.7 fouls drawn per 90 but should play the full match and if he is as much of a menace as in midweek is very capable of drawing fouls.
Getting Kevin De Bruyne fouled twice or more is probably the hardest part of this 50/1 shot. He did draw one foul vs Forest and is an experienced and technical player who Palace could target. Someone on the ball as often as he should be is always going to be a potential foul magnet.

🔍 Crystal Palace v Man City Players to Watch
🔵 Erling Haaland
Erling Haaland has been quiet in the Premier League recently, failing to score in any of his last three encounters. He is overdue a big performance in front of goal and will be eager to get back on the scoresheet. It’s not that long ago that he was tearing it up for his country in the most recent international break so it’s not like he’s out of form.
With Kevin De Bruyne now back around his supply line has increased so we can expect Haaland to prosper again. There are lots of markets we can target him in and the shots on target is one particular angle. 34 of his 65 shots have been on target this season in the Premier League. He averages the most shots of anyone in the entire league and more often than not has been hitting the target at least twice per game. He only managed to register one official shot on target in midweek but he can double that with just an average performance here where he should be particularly hungry.
🔴 Eberechi Eze
Only Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo have had more shots per 90 in the Premier League this season than Eze (3.60) so the shots market is always a good one to back him in. Eze played in midweek at Ipswich and came off with about 15 minutes to go to preserve his fitness, but he still managed to have three shots in that game.
Bookies have cottoned on well to his attempts and usually odds are short for him in this market now. However, with Palace being a significant underdog there is some extra value to be had. At a very juicy price all we need is the England international to fire in three attempts which is below his seasonal average.
The entire Palace offense runs through him, he knows when to step it up for some individual brilliance and he can also add in some cheap and easy shots via set pieces.
