Tallinna Kalev v Legion

Legion had a brief 24 hours where they thought there was a real chance, they could survive relegation when they beat highflyers Kuressaare, but whatever Legion can do Tallinna Kalev can do as well. Kalev shocked Estonian football by beating Paide 2-1 with a 90^th minute winner, thus guaranteeing their place in the top division next season, with Legion now hoping they can hold onto the relegation play-off spot instead of automatic relegation.

Despite the two having their fates almost decided, both sides have a reason to perform to their best. Kalev have ambitions of finishing as high as 6^th, whilst Legion will not want to be finishing in the automatic relegation place.

Both sides come into this one with interesting form, Legion have only lost 2 out of their last 5, picking up some impressive points against the teams at the top of the table. Kalev have also only lost 2 out of their last 5, winning the other 3.

Despite only losing 2 out of 5, Legion have still conceded a crazy 18 goals in that period, a very leaky defence explains why they have kept only 3 clean sheets all season – in their opponents they come up against the most creative player in the league, Ioan Yakovlev. Ioan has a total of 19 goal contributions this season as well as leading the assists charts with 13, we can expect some more creativity in this game.

Both sides continue to give youth a chance with both fielding the youngest teams throughout the season, this hasn’t stopped them given teams a decent game, with even Legion gaining praise from the media for not rolling over this season.

This one could go either way, all 3 games this season have been close with 1 Kalev win and 2 draws, a similar outcome can be expected, but it’ll be wrong to rule out Legion. End to end action is guaranteed, with bragging rights and pride on the line.

 Flora v Kuressaare

Flora come into this game with Kuressaare having just lost their 46 game unbeaten streak. Losing to Kalju, 1-0 in what was a very un-Flora-like performance.  Ironically the team who Flora last lost too before they went on their impressive streak was Kuressaare.

Kure have performed above expectations this season and find themselves almost guaranteeing 5^th place in the table. Form hasn’t been great of late, only winning once in their last 5 matches, although there are 3 draws thrown into this run. A disappointing 3-2 defeat to Legion was seen as a shock and a game that Kure were expected to win comfortably. A game against Flora as a bounce back game is not ideal.

Flora could use this game as an excuse to test out the fringe players, as the title is already wrapped up and the unbeaten record has gone. Players such as Mihkel Jarviste and Aleksandr Sapovalov will be desperate to get minutes and impress here.

On the other side of the pitch, Kure striker Sten Reinkort, who is on loan from Flora, will be itching to impress his parent club and add to his 14 league goals.

Historically, Kure never beat Flora, despite a shock 1-0 win last season. Flora tend to treat these matches as a little run around, winning all 3 games against Kure this season and scoring 10 goals in the process. Expect more goals to flow, and a comfortable Flora win, even with a rotated squad.

Tammeka v Pärnu

Tammeka come into this game playing reasonably well despite their league position of 7^th. A run of a win, draw and defeat in the month of October, has Tammeka thinking they can give anyone a game. Having lost 1-0 last weekend to Levadia Tallinn, heads shouldn’t drop as Tammeka were the better side for 90 minutes and it took a Beglarishvili penalty to see them off. Decent football is being played in the city of Tartu

Pärnu have just won their 1^st game since 6^th May, which actually gives them a very slim chance of avoiding automatic relegation. A sole Ronaldo Tissmaa goal to secure a  1-0 win last weekend against Narva Trans, left Pärnu 7 points behind relegation rivals Legion in 9^thwith just 4 matches to play and the two to play each-other on the final day.

Tammeka forward, Kevin Mätas is still searching for his 10^th league goal of the season and this match against Pärnu could be the ideal time for him to get it, although he’s only scored once in his 7 matches against the side.

Pärnu have Ronaldo Tiismaa, who they’ll be looking for to be the match winner once again, it’s the young striker’s best season in the top flight, albeit his only full season.

Matches between these 2 are normally good entertaining games. Goals are always guaranteed with both teams scoring in the last 7 meetings between them. Tammeka haven’t lost to Pärnu so far this season, in the 3 matches they’ve won 2 and drew 1, as they are the team playing better football of late, and Pärnu never beaten Tammeka, expect the unbeaten stretch to continue.
