Reaching 12 games in the Premier League without a managerial sacking is highly unusual, with at least one manager being dismissed by the November international break in seven of the last ten Premier League seasons.
Last season, Scott Parker was dismissed by Bournemouth after just four games, and the season as a whole saw 14 managers depart, the most in Premier League history by a distance, with the previous highest being ten.

Paul Heckingbottom emerges as favourite
His side may no longer be at the foot of the Premier League table, but Paul Heckingbottom remains the bookies’ favourite to leave his job first.
Sheffield United’s form has picked up, having snatched a win at the death from Wolves (albeit with a somewhat controversial penalty) and taking a point away at ten-man Brighton last weekend.
They also have two very winnable games ahead after the international break, playing Bournemouth at home and then Burnley away. Positive results in both these two games could make Heckingbottom’s job safer, however, losing games in which they will have targeted points could very well prove to be the final nail in his coffin.
With just five points on the board, the Blades are on course to finish the season with 15 points, the joint-second-fewest ever scored by a Premier League side across an entire season.
What appears to have saved Heckingbottom so far is a recognition of his hands being tied after two of their best players were sold before the season started. Without this, it would not have been a surprise to have seen him relieved of his duties by this point.
Odds:
⚔️ ❌ Paul Heckingbottom to be next manager sacked @ 2.75
Time running out for Erik ten Hag?
A promising first season at least resulted in qualification for the Champions League, but that has been followed by an underwhelming second campaign so far for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United.
Injuries, off-field issues and more ownership trouble have combined into a perfect storm that has seen United on the brink of elimination from the Champions League group stages and they’re already falling away from the top five in the league.
While a Carabao Cup win and qualification for the Champions League was enough last season, United appear to be going backwards, and you do just get the sense that the Dutchman is a couple of bad results away from being gone.
With their next five games featuring a tricky trip to Goodison, with Everton in good form, trips to Anfield and St James’ Park, and the visit of Chelsea to Old Trafford, things look likely to get worse before they get better for United, and that could well cost ten Hag his job.
It was November when Ole Gunnar Solksjaer was dismissed, so the Glazers do not have any qualms about sacking a manager this early into the season. If results do not improve soon, ten Hag’s job could be under real threat.
Odds:
🔴 ❌ Erik ten Hag to be next manager sacked @ 4.00
Is the Premier League too much for Vincent Kompany?
It is a surprise to see Vincent Kompany at such long odds on this list, with Burnley now rock bottom of the table and having won just one game all season, against Luton.
Unlike other sides in the relegation fight, Burnley have rarely even looked to be in games, although they have had a tough run of fixtures to start the season, playing all of the traditional big six bar Liverpool, and also Aston Villa and Newcastle.
They have now lost five in a row in the league, and six in a row in all competitions, with a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth and a 3-0 loss to Everton in the EFL Cup being particularly hard to take.
This is a young side, lacking top-flight experience, especially across the forward line, and perhaps this is helping Kompany’s case, with the ownership hoping to repeat their feat from last season by going down, retaining their core and bouncing straight back up.
However, even if that is the case, four points from 12 is dismal and surely will need to improve. With a nice run of fixtures including games with Sheffield United, West Ham and Everton all at Turf Moor approaching, Kompany must start putting some points on the board. Expect his odds to shorten significantly if his side’s losing streak continues much longer.
While Kompany does appear to have the backing of the ownership, backing him to be the first out of the door looks to be good value at this price. The results really have been dire and there has been little indication that it will turn around any time soon.
Prediction:
🟣 ❌ Vincent Kompany to be next manager sacked @ 5.00
More to do for Eddie Howe to prove himself in Tyneside?
A very surprising entry here, Eddie Howe is the next manager on the chopping block according to the bookies.
Their form has not been poor by any means, but the two losses to Dortmund have hurt their chances of qualifying for the Champions League knockout stages and Howe’s side may not even make the Europa League, depending on how the final two matchdays turn out.
This, coupled with a few stumbles in the league recently, including a shock defeat away at the Vitality Stadium to Bournemouth on Saturday, may well spell trouble for Howe. They are now six points adrift of the Champions League places, but it is still early and for PIF to hit the panic button would be a huge shock.
They are also dealing with something of an injury crisis which you would assume the ownership are taking into account; not to mention the suspension of their £60m summer signing, Sandro Tonali.
However, with players such as Dan Burn, Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Alexander Isak and Harvey Barnes all out for the foreseeable future, things are not likely to improve for a little while.
Newcastle’s next six games will see them face off against Chelsea, PSG, Man United, Spurs and Milan, where things could go from bad to worse very quickly, meaning a surprise sacking could be on the cards much sooner than you may expect.
Prediction:
🐦 ❌ Eddie Howe to be next manager sacked @ 6.00
Andoni Iraola ready to depart from the south coast?
Bournemouth had perhaps the toughest start of any Premier League side this season, and yet after some early struggles they have now won two of their last three games, including their impressive 2-0 win over an injury-hit Newcastle at the weekend.
Andoni Iraola looked to be a goner just a few weeks ago, but those watching more closely will have seen a side that was competitive in nearly every game they played, and points were thrown away by conceding late goals, like their 2-2 draw with Brentford or 2-1 defeat to Wolves.
Bournemouth have been mocked for having dismissed Gary O’Neil and brought in Iraola, but the Spaniard’s job now looks more secure now than ever. Of course, it only takes a few weeks for things to change, but an extremely favourable fixture list could well see Bournemouth climb away from the drop.
However, like with Heckingbottom, it is a double-edged sword, they are winnable games but fail to pick up points and the pressure will be greater than ever.
Bournemouth are still only three points clear of Luton in 18th, so they will need to take advantage of a run of fixtures that includes games against Sheffield United, Crystal Palace and Luton. If they fail to impress over these games, as is entirely possible, then the 8/1 price here could well be the best of the long-shot options on this market.
Prediction:
🍒 ❌ Andoni Iraola to be next manager sacked @ 8.00
