Experience
Robin has been covering Scottish football in a professional capacity for close to two decades and has been employed to Ligue 1 for nearly as long, when he was the French football editor at Goal for many years. In this role, he was a correspondent at two World Cups as well as Euro 2016, while he regularly takes in big Champions League and international matches. He has covered both France and Scotland in a betting capacity since 2007.
History
Betting Highlight
Manchester City’s first Premier League title might not have been too fondly remembered by many neutral football supporters, but the famous ‘Agueroooo’ moment landed an ante-post double with Cowdenbeath to win Scottish League One that came in around 14/1. Needless to say, he didn’t enjoy much of that final day of the Premier League season until Aguero had his say. Another standout ante-post bet was backing Lille to win Ligue 1 in 2010/11 at 10/1.
Betting Heartbreak
Does the name Apoula Edel ring any bells? Probably not. Back before PSG were bankrolled by Qatar, they boasted Edel as their goalkeeper. He became known as a calamity keeper in France – think Lorus Karius in the Champions League final on a weekly basis. Anyway, a particularly bad clearance against 10-man Lyon presented Bafetimbi Gomis with a simple chance to bust the final leg of a sizeable accumulator right at the last.
