Andy Robson's
Monocle Awards Survey Explained
How we found the UK’s favourite bookmakers using real bettors & honest insights.
The first-ever Andy Robson Golden Monocle Award was launched to find the Best Bookmaker for 2024/25 - a community-driven survey focused on real insights from real bettors.
Rather than relying on editorial opinion of affiliate incentives, this award was based entirely on user feedback, which highlights UK bookmakers that consistently deliver value, innovation and a top betting experience.
We wanted to dig deeper than surface-level, and fake ‘5 star’ reviews so we created a short survey asking nine key questions:
Most Used Bookmaker?
Best Bookmaker for Bet Builders?
Best Bookmaker for Accumulators?
Best Bookmaker for Odds (Prices)?
Best Bookmaker Betting Feature?
Best Bookmaker for Offers & Free Bets?
Best Bookmaker for Horse Racing?
Best Bookmaker Free to Play Game?
This methodology ensures that the Golden Monocle Award is a reflection of what punters actually use and trust during the season.
This is a staple research tool for anyone researching new bookmakers to sign up to based on their betting interests.
Why We Did It
There’s so many different bookmaker offers and promotions it can be overwhelming for bettors to know who really delivers the best value.
The Golden Monocle Awards allows us to cut through the noise and let real users decide which bookmaker is best for them.
Getting direct feedback from thousands of active bettors from the Andy Robson community, we aimed to create a clear, honest picture of what punters actually value. Whether that’s markets, pricing, features like Super Sub, or free-to-play games.
This wasn’t about opinions from industry insiders, it was about hearing from the people who use these bookies every week.
Who Took Part
Over 2,500 active sports bettors took part in the Golden Monocle survey from the Andy Robson betting community.
The survey was sent out to the Gem Bet mailing list, which means it’s a warm audience.
The majority of respondents regularly place football bets with many active in horse racing betting too, covering bet builders, accumulators and more.
Andy Robson caters for casual weekend punters to daily bettors and the survey captured a wide range of betting habits and preferences, providing a well-rounded view of the UK betting audience.
