Aston Villa v Fulham Preview
Aston Villa head into this one on a high after beating Man City last week, and Villa Park will be rocking for the visit of Fulham. Unai Emery has his side playing with real belief again, and they look like a team that knows exactly what it’s about.
Nicolas Jackson is the man in form, with his brace against Manchester City suggesting he’s finally found his feet in claret and blue.
Fulham, on the other hand, still look a work in progress under Arbeloa, and the way they’re shipping 14 shots a game is a real worry.
Josh King is their rare bright spark, though, and his movement and willingness to shoot mean Villa can’t afford to switch off.
If Fulham are going to get anything here, King will need to be at his best and they’ll have to defend far better than they have been.
Aston Villa v Fulham Odds
Aston Villa are the favourites to come out on top against Fulham this weekend with the majority of leading bookmakers, which isn't at all surprising given their recent form.

Josh King to Have 1+ Shots on Target @ 1.50
Josh King has become Fulham’s most important player, and he’s added a real cutting edge to his game this season. No one at the club has taken more shots (21) or hit the target more often (10).
He’s been a consistent threat too. King has managed at least two shots in seven of his eight Premier League games, and three or more in five of them, including each of his last two outings.
He’s also tested the keeper in six of those eight appearances, and his clever movement could give Villa’s defence plenty to think about. It’s clear his teammates are looking for him more as well. He’s averaging 53.4 touches per 90 minutes this season, up from 41.5 in the Premier League last term.
Nicolas Jackson to Have 1+ Shots on Target @ 1.33
Nicolas Jackson produced his best display in a Villa shirt last week against Man City, scoring twice from just three shots to win the game for Unai Emery’s side.
It’s no surprise to see him kicking on under Emery. The Villa boss has a proven knack for sharpening a striker’s movement and finishing, and Ollie Watkins is the perfect example of that.
Jackson has hit the target more than any other Villa player in the Premier League this season, with seven shots on target (1.14 per 90). He’s also had at least one effort on target in each of his last four league starts, and managed more than one in three of those games.
I’m far from convinced by the direction Fulham have taken under Arbeloa. They’re giving up 14 shots a game, and they could find it tough to keep a lid on Jackson, who’ll be brimming with confidence after last week’s brace.
