Crystal Palace v Everton Match Preview
Crystal Palace head into this weekend fixture on a high, after they made history on Thursday night by reaching their first ever European final. The Eagles beat Shakhtar 2-1 at Selhurst Park to progress 5-2 on aggregate, booking a place in the Conference League final in Leipzig on May 27th, where they will face Rayo Vallecano.
Palace have four Premier League games before that fixture, and they haven’t got much to play for. The Eagles are seven points above the drop zone, so there isn’t much pressure on them, and Oliver Glasner could opt for a bit of rotation in those matches. The Eagles have failed to win any of their last three league matches, including back-to-back defeats against Bournemouth and Liverpool, respectively.
Everton will hope to capitalise on that poor league form, especially as they are also on a four-game winless run. The Toffees were unfortunate to be held to a 3-3 draw against Man City last time out - after going 3-1 up in the 82nd minute, Man City eventually found the equaliser in the 97th-minute through Jeremy Doku. That poor run means Everton are now three points behind Bournemouth in 7th.
