West Ham v Wolves Match Preview

West Ham sit in the relegation zone but have given themselves a fighting chance, losing just two of their last seven Premier League matches to sit one point from safety. Their FA Cup exit to Leeds United was a frustrating one, Nuno Espírito Santo's side fought back to level in stoppage time before hitting the post and having two goals disallowed in extra time, ultimately losing on penalties.

That kind of spirit will need to be channelled into Friday night's home fixture, where three points would represent a significant step towards survival.

Wolves arrive in reasonable shape despite the break in play. Gary O'Neil's side saw just one defeat in their last six Premier League matches before the international break, picking up points against Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa in that run. 15 of their 17 Premier League points this season have come in 2026.

West Ham are expected to line up in a 4-2-3-1, with Adama Traoré on the right flank covering for the absent Crysencio Summerville. Jarrod Bowen is likely to continue on the left, despite that not being his natural flank, with Nicolás Castellanos leading the line. There is a goalkeeping uncertainty, with Mads Hermansen absent against Leeds and Alphonse Areola picking up a late injury, potentially opening the door for 20-year-old Finlay Herrick.

Wolves are expected to name a similar side to the one that drew with Brentford, with a back three of Mosquera, Krejci and Santiago Bueno. Adam Armstrong scored his first goal for the club in that game and should retain his place, supported by Mateus Mané and Bellegarde.

How To Get Your Free Bets on West Ham v Wolves

This expert bet builder is the perfect qualifying bet - place it to unlock your free bets, win or lose.

  • West Ham Over 4.5 Corners

West Ham average 11.58 total corners per Premier League game, with just over five earned themselves. At home, their attacking intent increases that figure further. Facing a Wolves side that concedes over six corners per match and struggles to control games, West Ham should generate plenty of corner opportunities.

  • Wolves Over 1.5 Cards

Wolves possess one of the poorest disciplinary records in the league. Their lack of control in matches often forces reactive defending. Wolves have seen a significant uptick in cards when playing away, and they have landed this selection in 13 out of 15 league matches on the road overall.

  • Ladislav Krejci 2+ Fouls Committed

Krejci averages over one foul per 90 minutes and plays in a Wolves side that commit a high number of fouls. His direct matchup against a pacey winger like Adama Traore presents a challenge, as Traore frequently drives forward and draws contact.

  • Jarrod Bowen 1+ Shots on Target

Bowen was unfortunate not to find the back of the net against Leeds last time out, as he recorded six shots, and hit the post twice. He did still manage to land this selection with one shot on target. Bowen should find more success on Friday night against a Wolves side who have conceded 54 goals from their 31 league matches this season.
