Aston Villa secured the comeback in imperious style on Thursday night, as they beat Nottingham Forest 4-0 to book their spot in the Europa League final. It was a dominant performance from the hosts, who will now face Freiburg in Istanbul. Ollie Watkins played a massive role in that second leg performance - he opened the scoring in the 36th minute, before then turning provider for John McGinn in the 77th minute. In between those two key moments, Watkins also had a goal ruled out for offside, highlighting his involvement in the final third. 

Watkins has seen a real uptick in form in recent weeks and has been popping up with some important contributions for Villa. In fact, he has contributed seven goals and three assists in his last 10 games across all competitions, and this matchup against Burnley is a promising one for him to maintain his excellent form.

Villa’s form has been quite inconsistent in recent weeks, but their most recent win against Forest was a massive one, and they will hope to use that to build momentum and end the domestic season on a high. Unai Emery’s men were completely dominant at Villa Park on Thursday, as they racked up 18 shots and three big chances, restricting the visitors to just seven shots in return. If Villa can replicate that kind of performance, Burnley will be worried.

The Clarets have failed to win any of their last 10 matches across all competitions, with eight losses in that stretch. They haven’t got much to play for, with their relegation already confirmed, and results have reflected that. The reverse fixture at Villa Park finished 2-1 to the hosts, meaning Villa have won each of their last three head-to-head encounters against Burnley, and this seems like the perfect opportunity to extend that streak.

Despite their comfortable win in midweek, Emiliano Martinez still had a bit of work to do - he denied Chris Wood, who found himself one-on-one, which was a huge save in the circumstance. He then denied Ryan Yates late on, which was a much easier save. 

Villa like to commit bodies forward in their attacks, which can sometimes leave them exposed. Martinez has been a reliable option when called upon, and the Villa goalkeeper has registered at least two saves in each of their last eight matches across all competitions. In fact, they are averaging 3.35 saves per game when playing away this season, which shows how they're not the most watertight at the back. 

Burnley might not have much to gain here, but they can still pose a threat going forward, especially in front of a home crowd. They have drawn at least two saves in six of their last seven matches.

Morgan Rogers had three shots in the reverse fixture against Burnley at Villa Park, and two of those hit the target. Even though he didn’t contribute to the scoring in midweek, Rogers did still provide an assist, and he landed this selection with one shot on target, which shows how he has been one of Villa's most consistent attacking threats all season. 

The 23-year-old has scored nine Premier League goals this campaign, and his average of 2.35 per 90 in the league is one of the highest in the Villa squad. He tends to be accurate with his efforts, and 38% of his shots in the league have hit the target. This is Rogers’ most prolific season in the Premier League in terms of goals scored, and he will be desperate to make it into double figures - he has three more games to score, and this matchup against Burnley is a great opportunity for him.

Aston Villa rank top of the Premier League charts for total fouls drawn this season, highlighting how difficult they can be to contain. That is something Burnley will know all about, given that they racked up 15 fouls in the reverse fixture. Bashir Humphreys was absent for that particular match; he has since established himself as a key figure at the back for the Clarets. In his place, Axel Tuanzebe committed one foul, while his fellow centre backs Josh Laurent and Maxime Esteve also registered one.

In addition to his contributions in the final third, Morgan Rogers is a key player when it comes to linking the lines, and he can be a tough player to contain. He is averaging 1.52 fouls per 90 across all competitions this season, and he has been fouled at least once in each of his last 11 away matches. Rogers should find duels against Humphreys this weekend. 

Zian Flemming is averaging 2.33 fouls per 90 across all competitions this season, which is one of the highest figures in the Burnley squad, and he has landed this selection in five of his last six games. He recorded just one infringement against Leeds last time out, as his side were beaten 3-1, but this selection did still manage to land with bet365 as Armando Broja added two fouls off the bench after replacing Flemming.

Burnley have generally struggled to control possession this season, and that should be the case again here against Villa. That means Flemming usually has a lot of chasing to do up front, and he does tend to rack up soft fouls. His primary matchup should be Ezri Konsa, who excels at drawing cheap free kicks, and the centre back is averaging 1.28 fouls drawn per 90 across all competitions this season.
