When looking at the table, it shocked me to see that Crewe were sitting in the play-off positions, as a few weeks ago they were right in the middle of the table. Crewe have taken 10 points from their last five games, and both teams to score has landed in 10 of their 17 home games this season.
Their visitors Tranmere could be one of the first teams on the beach this season, although I’m sure it will not feel like that to their fans. They are 18th in League Two, nine points above the relegation zone with a game in hand, and double that amount of points away from the top seven. They will be playing in the fourth tier again next season, which should allow them to perform with some freedom, in theory.
But, they have lost eight of their last nine games, and will probably still be fearing a strong run of form from Harrogate or Newport. Both teams have scored in 11 of their 16 away games, which is the third highest percentage in League Two.
