It is now 13 consecutive defeats for Sheffield Wednesday in all competitions, and no wins in 30 matches since their solitary win of the season at Portsmouth in September.
Unfortunately for the Owls, the season has gone as many feared. With no money, no budget, and no way of adding quality to the group, the same players have been forced into playing too much, supplemented by the youth that they had in the building, and therefore, the lack of quality and the enormous workload have resulted in a truly difficult season.
Their opponents have capitalized on all of this, and, especially since relegation was confirmed a few weeks ago, the matches in the league have been one-sided affairs.
We have seen Norwich and Southampton both win by two clear goals in the last two league matches, and, indeed, the last five Sheffield Wednesday matches have seen them concede twice or more to their opponents.
Derby have home advantage here, and the last time that they failed to score at home was back on the 20th September, funnily enough, the same day that Sheffield Wednesday won their only match. They put three past Blackburn last time out at home, and two past Swansea too.
