Barcola to finally get off the mark

Liverpool made a steady start under Iraola prior to the international break, remaining unbeaten in seven games across all competitions. After starting positively against Man City at the weekend, it was a red card to Ryan Gravenberch which ultimately proved costly. After his dismissal, the visitors scored three times.
Liverpool have been effective on their travels so far, picking up seven points from three away games while also keeping two clean sheets. The Reds started their Champions League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid, and they will hope to follow that up with another three points here.
LASK were beaten 2-0 by Rapid Wien at the weekend, meaning they have failed to win any of their last four matches across all competitions coming into this clash.
Even without some of their key attacking players, Liverpool should have more than enough attacking firepower to get the job done in Austria, and it is likely to be one-way traffic. Liverpool matches are averaging 9.9 corners this season, and their Champions League opener against Atletico Madrid saw a total of 12 corners. The Reds accounted for seven of those.
LASK have been just as effective at generating corners so far. In fact, they are averaging 7.1 corners per game across all competitions this season. They have been quite effective at getting to the byline, and they will have to be direct against Liverpool.
Bradley Barcola is still waiting for his first goal contribution since joining Liverpool over the summer, but this fixture presents an excellent opportunity for him. The Reds are missing key attacking personnel, so there is big pressure on the shoulders of the Frenchman.
Barcola joined Liverpool after contributing 76 goals and assists across 152 appearances for PSG, so there is no doubt about his quality in the final third. He racked up 21 goals and 20 assists in his first full season at PSG, before adding another 13 goals and six assists last season. It has taken some time for him to find his feet this campaign, but this looks like a favourable matchup.
Florian Wirtz had a tough outing against Man City last time out, but with the Reds so depleted in forward areas, Iraola might have to stick with the German international.
After completing his big money move from Bayer Leverkusen, Wirtz managed just seven goals and eight assists in his first full season for Liverpool. So far this term, he has just one assist to his name, despite featuring in seven games.
However, he is still averaging 2.25 shots per 90, which shows how he is still picking up promising shooting positions. This will be an ideal opportunity for him to break his duck and start re-building some confidence.
If LASK are going to pose a threat in the final third against Liverpool, Kasper Jorgensen will have to play a role. The Danish international has been incredibly active going forward for LASK this campaign, despite being listed as a right wingback on paper. He has recorded 29 shots in 12 appearances, averaging 2.82 shots per 90 across all competitions.
Even last season, he bagged seven goals in 32 league appearances for LASK, which shows just how important he is going forward. Jorgensen isn’t afraid to try his luck from distance, and he usually shoots as soon as the space opens up. That could be useful against Liverpool where chances will be rarer than usual.

Andrade is a real shot threat from centre back
- LASK v Liverpool
- Tomorrow
Andres Andrade has produced some notable shot counts for LASK this season, despite playing as a centre back. The Panama international is averaging 2.27 shots per 90 across all competitions, and he has even found the back of the net three times. As well as being the main threat from set-pieces when LASK send the ball into the box, Andrade does occasionally try his luck from distance.
With chances likely to be few and far between for the hosts midweek, they are likely to throw their centre backs forward into the box at every available opportunity. Andrade will be the target man, and he tends to be accurate with his efforts. He has recorded nine shots on target this season.
Alexis Mac Allister was shown a yellow card in Liverpool’s Champions League victory over Atletico Madrid - the Argentine committed two fouls before being substituted after 69 minutes. He hasn’t featured regularly this season, but Mac Allister has still managed to pick up two cards in just six starts.
He likes to press aggressively in midfield, and can often be drawn into cynical challenges. Last season, Mac Allister hit ten yellow cards, after racking up 11 bookings in the season prior. LASK can pose a threat in transition with pace in behind, and if Liverpool get caught out then Mac Allister might be forced to take one for the team.
Melayro Bogarde has committed 15 fouls from just seven starts across all competitions for LASK this season, averaging 2.01 per game. Four of those infringements came against AEK Athens in round one of the Champions League, where he was also booked. Prior to that, he racked up three fouls against Celtic in the final Champions League qualifier.
Bogarde should have plenty of defensive work to get through against Liverpool, who are expected to dominate possession. The 24-year-old will be up against the likes of Barcola, Rio Ngumoha and Victor Munoz - players who like to be direct and beat their man.
Only Mac Allister has committed more fouls for Liverpool than Milos Kerkez this season, and the fullback has shown struggles defensively.
Iraola has a good understanding of the Hungarian international as they were both at Bournemouth together, but the Spanish manager hasn’t yet been able to get the best out of him in a Liverpool shirt.
Kerkez has been a bit rash in his challenges, meaning he has picked up three yellow cards in seven starts, and he recorded multiple infringements in four of those.
Kerkez will be directly up against Jorgensen midweek, who will keep him occupied. The Danish international is averaging 1.51 fouls drawn per 90 this season across all competitions.
