Barnet have seen BTTS in 10/10 L2 games

Lincoln are not the Championship minnow that some expected them to be this season.

They’ve scored in eight of 11 league games (73%) and host a Burnley side who have conceded the joint-2nd most goals in the division.

Gregoire Coudert, between the sticks, has been at fault for goals in each of the Clarets’ last two games and they have only managed one clean sheet.

This bet has landed in 10/11 Burnley Championship games this term.

Lincoln are also unsustainably underperforming going forward, they’ll find the net with more regularity if they continue to generate chances to this extent, having scored just nine from 14.0 xG this season - at 1.27 xG for per game.

This is a real shortie, but it’s justified.

Huddersfield are the best team in League One on expected points, expected goal difference and xG for and the fixture schedule is in their favour this weekend.

They’re playing their second home game in five days, where Wigan are their second away game in the same time period, so fatigue should be greater impacting the away side.

Wigan are also 24th in League One, with one of the worst defensive processes in the league - travelling to the joint-2nd top scorers in the division.

Huddersfield have so many ways they can hurt a team, and nothing in Wigan’s form line suggests they can restrict them especially when the fixture list is working against them on top of all that, following a 2-1 defeat at Oxford on Tuesday night where they lost the xG battle 1.85-0.25.

These are two of the best sides in the Championship, and I think Southampton have shown enough this season to back them to get on the scoresheet.

Tonda Eckert’s side have netted 21 goals across their 11 games in the Championship this season (1.90 per game), only Middlesbrough (22) and West Ham (30) have scored more goals than Southampton in the Championship this season.

The only side that has managed to keep Southampton out so far this season was Bolton last week, who were quite fortunate to keep that clean sheet with the Saints registering an xG of 2.19 from their 14 shots.

These sides faced off in the EFL Cup earlier in the season, which saw West Ham come away 4-1 winners. Southampton rotated heavily for that game, and still managed to get on the scoresheet.

Barnsley are in a real mess at the moment.

They’ve lost each of their last five matches ahead of this one, and you have to go all the way back to early September for their last win in any competition - a 2-1 victory over Blackpool.

Reading boast the best home record of any side in League One, with only Luton managing to beat them in front of their own fans back on Matchday 1.

Reading have scored 15 goals across their six home games in League One this term (2.5 per game), which is more than any other side at home in the third division.

Barnsley have only managed to win one of their five away games in League One this season, losing three of these games. Reading’s scoring power is likely to be too much for them, Barnsley have only scored five goals across these matches.

I’m surprised we’re still getting prices this backable on BTTS in Barnet games, the bet has won in all 10 of their League Two outings this season.

It looks sustainable as well, they’ve conceded 15 goals from 14.70 xG against and scored 23 from 21.53 for.

Oldham have been more BTTS-shy this term, with the bet only landing in five of 11, but that’s come while they’re trending at 1.51 xG for per game and 1.26 xG against, healthy numbers ahead of a trip to Barnet.

Oldham are ranked over 10 places higher than their current league position on expected points, and they’ve had plenty about them going forward in the last week, posting 2.30 and then 1.52 xG for against Cheltenham (5th) and Walsall (4th).

The data suggests that Exeter are due to score, and Fleetwood are due to concede.

Exeter are the 3rd-biggest xG underperformers in League Two, scoring only eight times from 14.05 xG for.

They host a Fleetwood side who have the 2nd-worst xG against figure in the division, the 3rd-biggest xG overperformers with 15 conceded from 22.31 xG against.

Fleetwood are allowing 1.86 xG against per game, a regression to the mean for both sides in this fixture would see the floodgates open for Exeter.

The hosts have been gradually improving as the campaign has gone on, now with four wins, four draws and four defeats from their opening 12, and despite only scoring eight they’re only a point off the play-offs.

Fleetwood have kept just one clean sheet in six league away games and their process does not suggest the next one will be coming anytime soon.
