Promotion chasing Notts County will be looking to bounce back from an unexpected defeat at Shrewsbury on Tuesday night, as they host Tranmere at Meadow Lane.
The Magpies are a force on home turf, averaging over two points per game from their 16 matches so far. They have won their last four, which includes two wins over top eight sides, but they have proved equally effective at dispatching the poorer sides, too, with wins over Barrow and Gillingham.
Tranmere are probably enough points (10) above the drop zone not to be looking over their shoulders, but they have lost seven of their last eight games, compounded on Tuesday with a defeat at home to Accrington, who played with 10 men for over half an hour, and had a further player sent off in stoppage time. Rovers have lost their last four visits to Meadow Lane, with their last win at Notts County dating back to 2012.
