Partick Thistle are one of my go-to teams when playing at home in the Scottish Championship this season - and with good reason. Mark Wilson's men boast the best home record in the division, taking top honours from nine of their 12 fixtures to date, and they remain the only team yet to lose a home match. A closer look shows that the Jags have triumphed in seven of their last eight Championship fixtures at Firhill, including a notable success against league leaders and title rivals St Johnstone.
Therefore, Thistle’s strong home form doesn’t bode well for a relegation-threatened Airdrie side, who have already been defeated at this venue earlier in the campaign. What’s more, the Diamonds have lost two of their last three league games and failed to score in either of those defeats - and that only adds further weight to backing Partick Thistle to pick up another three points at Firhill on Saturday afternoon.
