Both teams' scoring has become a familiar trend in Leicester matches this season. Rather remarkably, aside from a 2-0 win against League Two opposition in the FA Cup last month, which you could argue is an outlier, Leicester haven’t kept a clean sheet since 20th September, this is a whopping 27 games since.
Statistically, at least, a Stoke goal almost seems like a formality. This will provide some heart for the hosts, given that they’ve now failed to score in three of their last four matches. Discounting their 2-0 win against Cheltenham in the FA Cup, Leicester’s last eight away matches have finished with both teams scoring, so there’s clearly a tendency for the visitors to find the net.
Now, admittedly, Stoke matches have often been low-margin and low goalscoring affairs this season, but there does seem to be an element of chaos when Leicester arrive in town. Taking into account recent goal patterns in Leicester away matches, I think 1.87 is too big to refuse.
