AC Milan’s superior quality should be enough to see them claim all three points away at Udinese on Sunday night.
Ruben Amorim’s side are one of only four teams in Serie A yet to taste defeat this season, having recorded 4 wins and 3 draws from their opening seven matches, most recently beating Atalanta 3-2 last weekend.
That spells trouble for a struggling Udinese outfit, who have suffered 5 straight defeats in Serie A.
Kosta Runjaic’s men have lost at home to Lazio and Cagliari during that run, before being thumped 3-0 by Lecce on their own patch last time out.
AC Milan are a step up in class from Udinese’s recent visitors and should add to the Bianconeri’s woes.
Notably, Milan boss Amorim also rested most of his big hitters against Bournemouth on Thursday night, strengthening the case for the visitors to get the job done here.
Admittedly, AC Milan have not been racking up big corner counts this season, but the way I see this game unfolding makes them well placed to earn at least five on Sunday night.
Udinese’s corner record is the main reason for that.
The out-of-sorts hosts have conceded an average of 5.71 corners per game in Serie A this season, which is the fifth-highest tally in the division.
Upon closer inspection, Udinese have conceded 10 corners in matches against both Como and Inter this season.
Further encouragement comes from AC Milan having hit at least 5 corners in each of their last two Serie A away games, which were against Sassuolo and Lazio.
It’s also worth noting that the Rossoneri forced 4 flag kicks in Thursday night’s 3-0 defeat away to Bournemouth, despite being reduced to ten men after 27 minutes.
They only need to better that tally by one on Sunday night, which doesn’t look too much to ask.
Christian Pulisic tends to attract plenty of close attention from opposition defenders, regardless of who AC Milan are facing, and I expect that to be no different on Sunday night.
That makes the AC Milan forward worth backing to be fouled at least once.
The USA international has been fouled 3 times across his last three Serie A outings, including once against Atalanta last weekend.
What’s more, Pulisic was brought down twice after coming off the bench against Salzburg in the Europa League last week.
He is likely to come up against Oumar Solet, who has been one of Udinese’s main culprits when it comes to committing fouls this season.
The French defender has averaged 1.58 fouls per game in Serie A and has been penalised 5 times across his last two appearances, strengthening the case for Pulisic to be fouled.
