Bodo Glimt v Haugesund Best Bets
This isn’t a great spot for Bodo Glimt. They will almost certainly have their eye on an upcoming Champions League qualifier against Polish champions Jagiellonia Bialystok which will be a very tough tie. Glimt have a mixed record historically when in the middle of these European runs but Haugesund might feel they are vulnerable.
The hosts are too short to trust at odds of around 1.20 and the -1 or -2 handicap doesn’t make great appeal either. Haugesund have not lost any game by more than a two-goal margin all season and five of their eight defeats have only been by a single goal.
In this instance, it might pay to go value hunting by taking BTTS at a big price. Bodo Glimt have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine Eliteserien games. That happened to be against Haugesund but the visitors should get chances to score here. Glimt are possibly distracted, have some defensive injury doubts and are not in the habit of being very secure recently. They have drawn three games 1-1 this season and another 2-2 so it might be wise to have these scorelines covered. Haugesund have poor defensive xGA metrics and it would be a big shock if they left with a clean sheet of their own.

📊 Bodo/Glimt Form and Stats
The defending Eliteserien champions were held to a 1-1 draw away to newly promoted KFUM Oslo last week. Bodo Glimt have won 4 of their last 6 league games and enjoyed a comfortable 7-1 aggregate success against Latvian side RFS in Champions League qualifying, but they have not always been convincing of late.
Despite a stacked and loaded squad, injuries have been a concern. Full-back Brice Wembangomo and first-choice goalkeeper Nikita Khaikin are both doubtful for this match.
Kjetil Knudsen’s men are unbeaten at home so far this season but have drawn three out of five fixtures. With two of those against unfancied opponents Sandefjord and KFUM Oslo, some might see them as potentially unreliable.
They still have the best offensive and best defensive records in the Eliteserien. Bodo Glimt have overachieved their xG numbers by over ten goals though, converting 37 times from 27.03 xG.
📊 Haugesund Form and Stats
It has been a poor season for Haugesund and they currently find themselves inside the relegation zone, albeit with at least one game in hand on all their rivals.
They lost their initial manager Oskar Hrafn Thorvaldsson who resigned in early May and was replaced by Sancheev Manoharan. He has done reasonably well, obtaining 11 points from 9 league games including a recent victory over Viking and a 1-1 draw away to Brann. Haugesund put themselves back in trouble by losing 4-3 away to Sandefjord last week, though.
The team from Western Norway have scored the joint-fewest goals in the Eliteserien this season (16) and simply lack a reliable striker to hit the back of the net.
Haugesund have now failed to win any of their last five away games but can take some confidence from the aforementioned 1-1 draw at Brann recently. Their tactics that day were to stay in the game as long as they could, before eventually firing home a late equaliser.
Haugesund have the fourth-worst average xGA per 90 mins (1.53) and have a poor-looking backline with centre back Claus Niyukuri ruled out until September with injury.
⚔️ Bodo Glimt v Haugesund Head-to-Head
This is a fixture that Bodo Glimt have dominated in recent years. They have won 7 of the last 9 meetings and haven’t lost against Haugesund in any of the last 11 encounters. The visitors have to go way back to 2018 for their last victory vs Glimt.
The reverse fixture between the two teams this season ended in a 1-0 Bodo Glimt win back in early June. It was an encounter they dominated with an xG of 2.17 as opposed to Haugesund’s 0.48.
Glimt obtained more corners (9-1) and more shots (16-8). They dominated possession with 60% of the ball, but Ulrik Saltnes’ 66th-minute strike was the only difference between the two teams.
Haugesund only lost 2-1 away at this ground last season and in the 2022 campaign managed to draw 1-1. Memories of a 6-1 defeat back in 2021 might still linger though.
