Bryne v Viking Bet Builder Quick Tips & Preview

Steve Wyss
Specialist in Scandinavian & European soccer. I have been in the betting game for nearly 20 years now with a summer focus on the Norwegian & Swedish leagues. With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. Outside of betting I was once a Sunday League goalkeeper myself. But my boots are now retired and instead prefer to hit up the cricket pitch and golf course in my spare time.
- Bryne v Viking
- Norwegian Eliteserien
- 13:30
Viking have scored 42 goals this season, the most of any team in the Eliteserien
12 out of 17 Viking fixtures have gone over 2.5 goals
Six of the last seven Bryne games have been BTTS yes
Viking have lost consecutive Eliteserien games to put some pressure on them at the top of the table. They still lead the standings, but need to get back on track facing a Bryne side who have defied expectations upon their promotion. Viking are priced at 1.75 to win here, but I'm more interested in the goals markets.

🔴 Bryne Holding Their Own in Survival Fight
Newly promoted minnows Bryne were expected to struggle mightily this season, with nearly every pundit predicting them to finish rock bottom of the Eliteserien table. But they have defied expectations and currently find themselves 12th in the table, four points clear of danger.
They lost 1-3 away to Tromso last week which ended a seven game unbeaten run, but there is no disgrace in losing away to such an in-form side. Bryne’s underlying metrics are encouraging, with an xG per game of 1.36 and xGA of 1.58. They don’t rank inside the bottom five in either of those categories, so they deserve to be where they are in the table.
⚪ Consecutive Defeats Has Put Some Pressure on Viking
Viking had a 14 match unbeaten run ended by Brann (1-3), and then lost last week at home to Bodo Glimt (2-4). They remain top of the table but teams below them have games in hand now, so the title destiny is not in their own hands.
The 36 points obtained in 17 games is still a very acceptable total, though. Viking have a powerful attack force and scored a mammoth 42 goals this season. They rank second for average xG per game (2.06) and 3rd best for xGA (1.34).
📊 Bryne v Viking H2H
The two teams have not met competitively since 2018, which was a Norwegian Cup match which Bryne won 1-0 as a 6/1 outsider. There is very little other head-to-head data to draw any conclusions from.
