Diego Gomez has had a shot in each of his last five Premier League appearances, with three of these games seeing him have multiple efforts. He first rose to prominence with a four goal haul against Barnsley in the EFL Cup earlier the season, and has been a regular contributor in the Brighton squad since.

Diego Gomez plays a variety of roles, but all give him a decent chance of having just the one shot here. With Mitoma returning to the squad, it’s likely that Gomez slots in alongside Ayari here. Ayari is priced slightly shorter for a shot @ 1.30, but both regularly get forward and have strong shot records so taking Gomez at the slightly more appealing price of 1.44 seems like an attractive angle.

As well as having a strong recent shot record, Gomez has had 26 shots across his 14 starts in the Premier League this term (1.95 per 90). This record includes recently scoring against Arsenal, as well as having three shots against Liverpool at Anfield - showing that Gomez still maintains a decent shot record when against improved opposition.

Gomez started against Manchester City in the initial meeting between the sides at the Amex which Brighton won 2-1. He didn’t quite manage a shot in his 60 minutes on the pitch, but this selection would have landed through Sub On Play On as Gruda came on for him and scored the winner. It’s likely that Sub On Play On works to our advantage here as well, with Hurzeler not afraid to make bold substitutions.

Brighton had 12 shots in the initial league meeting between the sides, and racked up 15 attempts on their last visit to the Etihad - so there should be a few opportunities for Gomez to take aim in this clash.
