Dortmund claimed the first leg by a 1-0 margin thanks to a first-half goal from Niclas Fullkrug, although the German side were reliant on both posts to keep a clean sheet in an encounter a good deal more entertaining than the score would suggest.
Now these sides stand perhaps just 90 minutes away from meeting either Bayern Munich or Real Madrid in the final at Wembley. Another pulsating encounter is predicted.

⚔️ PSG v Dortmund Head-to-Head
PSG and Borussia Dortmund have met three times this season, with the record split evenly. The teams have won a game apiece while the other ended in a draw. Luis Enrique’s side, though, hold a slight edge, having scored three goals to BVB’s two.
Five different players have found the target between these clubs, with only Fullkrug participating directly in more than a single goal. The No.9 assisted Karim Adeyemi’s goal in December before scoring last week.
What was evident in Dortmund six days ago was the extra dimension Jadon Sancho brought BVB. Although he only had one shot, which went off target, he had a match-high 85 touches, completed an incredible 13 take-ons, and delivered three key passes. The Englishman was clearly the ace of Edin Terzic’s side.
At the cutting edge of things was Fullkrug, who had five shots but only one on target. His bustling style was not contained by PSG and is one that the Ligue 1 champions have typically had trouble coping with in the past.
Marcel Sabitzer was also impressive. Having struggled at Manchester United on loan last season, he had three shots last week, all of which found the target.
PSG, meanwhile, threatened primarily through Kylian Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele, who each managed a shot on target plus three and four shots overall respectively.
But while this pair threatened, the defence of the French side heaved against the vivacity of their opponents’ attacking play. Nevertheless, they only gave up six fouls in total, three of which were conceded by Achraf Hakimi.
Dortmund were happier to give up fouls, with Emre Can, Sabitzer, Fullkrug, and Adeyemi all giving away multiple free kicks.
Despite Luis Enrique’s side blowing hot and cold for periods last week, they matched Dortmund with 1.7xG. PSG now trail BVB in terms of shots on target across their three meetings 11-10, despite having outshot their rivals 47 to 37.
📊 PSG Form and Stats
PSG were not in action last weekend, allowing them to focus entirely on this encounter for the last six days.
Les Parisiens are typically solid at home in Europe, though they did lose their last Parc des Princes meeting 3-2 against Barcelona.
Since that game, they had won three and drawn one before playing Dortmund. What was especially notable was the volume of goals they were scoring before a plethora of scoring chances were missed in Germany.
Nevertheless, they have achieved more than 1.5xG in their last five fixtures, which should fuel the belief that they can turn around this tie. Indeed, they had been on a five-game streak of scoring two or more before drawing a blank on the Ruhr Valley.
Mbappe, naturally, is their chief hope for goals, having notched eight in the Champions League. No other PSG player has more than two, although both Dembele and Vitinha registered in both legs against Barcelona. Mbappe is 1.53 to score anytime with Paddy Power, with Dembele at 3.75 and Vitinha at 4.5
Warren Zaire-Emery, meanwhile, leads the way with three European assists this season and is 4.33 to make it four.
PSG’s six fouls in Dortmund, meanwhile, were highly unusual. In seven of their previous eight Champions League matches, they have achieved double that figure.
Luis Enrique’s side also trended low in corner kicks, winning just three. Their high mark in Europe this season is 10, which was achieved against Dortmund at home in September. They had managed at least six in nine of their previous 10 before last week.
Equally, PSG have given up six or more corners just three times in their last 10.
📊 Dortmund Form and Stats
Unlike their hosts, Dortmund were in action at the weekend and impressed as they dismantled Augsburg 5-1 with a much-changed side that notably included the fit-again Donyell Malen.
Given the vast alterations made in that encounter, it would be wrong to consider that too much in the analysis of their chances in Paris, yet it did serve to highlight the strength of Dortmund’s options. Youssoufa Moukoko notably scored twice, and his pace could terrify PSG much as Adeyemi’s did in the first leg.
Dortmund’s recent results, meanwhile, represent an overperformance compared to their xG. They have only outperformed their opponents in this capacity in three of their last seven, while in their 5-1 weekend win, they only edged Augsburg 2.7xG to 2.4xG.
In Europe, unlike the Bundesliga, Terzic’s side have struggled away from home. BVB have won only two of five on their travels and have yet to succeed on the road in the knockout stages, drawing 1-1 with PSV before losing to Atletico Madrid. Across these two games, they were outperformed by their hosts by a combined 2xG.
What is noticeable is the high number of corners they have given up on the road. In only one of five away games in the Champions League this season have they faced fewer than eight corners. PSG are 1.95 to win at least this number of corners here.
Dortmund, meanwhile, are strong at committing fouls while seeing few cards. Despite hitting 11 or more fouls committed in five of their last nine European games, they have yet to see more than three bookings in a single fixture.
💰 PSG v Dortmund Best Bets
With PSG short-priced at 1.44 to win this game, the best bet might be to look to the corner market for success.
Dortmund have given up high numbers of corners throughout the Champions League this season when playing away from home, while PSG have a habit of winning at least six per game. With the Parisian side liable to exert significant territorial pressure in this match, it would be surprising if this trend were bucked.
PSG to win at least 7 corners at 1.57, therefore, looks like excellent value.
Similarly, look for Dortmund to commit at least 11 fouls at 1.57, yet PSG bag more cards than their German counterparts, a trend that has been consistent in this competition. PSG to receive the most cards at 3.0 on Paddy Power.
