Celtic will be desperately seeking to arrest their worrying slump when they face Dundee United at Tannadice on Wednesday night.

Wilfried Nancy has suffered the worst start of any Celtic boss, losing each of his first 3 games in charge, and missing out on silverware as a result.

The Hoops cannot afford to feel sorry for themselves and must focus on reducing the gap on Scottish Premiership leaders Hearts.

As for eighth-placed Dundee United, they will be targeting what would be their first Scottish Premiership victory since October.

📈 Dundee United v Celtic Form & Stats

Dundee United have failed to win a Scottish Premiership game since late October, with their winless run being extended to seven matches following Saturday’s 0-0 draw with Motherwell. Remarkably, that was the eighth time the Terrors have shared the points with their opponents in the Scottish top-flight this term, with only Motherwell (9) drawing more matches at this stage.

Dundee United posted just their third Scottish Premiership clean sheet of the season on Saturday, with their last shutout prior to that coming against Aberdeen in September.

Six of the Terrors’ 16 Scottish top-flight matches this term have featured over 3.5 goals, including a pair of 2-2 draws with Rangers.

Dundee United have conceded the opening goal in 10 of their 16 Scottish Premiership matches this season, including five of their eight outings at home.

Wilfried Nancy got off to the worst possible start as Celtic manager when watching his team crash to a 2-1 defeat against Hearts. The defeat, combined with Hearts’ subsequent win at Falkirk, has left Celtic occupying second place in the Scottish Premiership table, six points off the summit.

Both the Europa League and the Scottish League Cup final offered little respite for the new Hoops boss, with Roma romping to a 3-0 success at Celtic Park last Thursday, while St Mirren dethroned Celtic with a stunning 3-1 victory at Hampden on Sunday. As a result of what has been a disastrous start, pressure is already building on Nancy.

Celtic have conceded from a corner in each of their three matches under Nancy, a weakness Dundee United will almost certainly try to exploit.

Celtic have been shown one yellow card or fewer in each of their last three matches across all competitions.

📔 Dundee United v Celtic Formation & Team News

Jim Goodwin has utilised variations of a back-three in recent weeks, setting his side up in a 3-3-4 formation against Motherwell last time out. The hosts have reported no fresh injury concerns following Saturday’s stalemate with the Steelmen.

Isaac Pappoe is closing in on a return to first-team action, although this clash may come too soon for the midfielder. Krisztian Keresztes is back in contention after serving a suspension at the weekend, while Vicko Sevelj is one booking away from incurring a one-game ban.

Wilfried Nancy's decision to instantly implement his preferred 3-4-3 system has come in for some fierce criticism from sections of the Celtic faithful. Having overseen 3 defeats so far, the Frenchman must be weighing up whether to stick or twist with his formation at Tannadice on Wednesday night.

Alistair Johnston, Callum Osmand, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Jota, and Marcelo Saracchi are all expected to miss out for Celtic again this midweek, while Kelechi Iheanacho is facing another spell on the sidelines after being forced off with a recurrence of a hamstring injury during Sunday's 3-1 defeat to St Mirren.
