Paide v Flora
🏟
Sunday 28th August – 3:15PM KO
The question this Meistriliigaseason is, can anyone beat Flora? Flora are unbeaten in the league in 39 games, going back a whole year since they were last beaten. Of the teams that can beat the current leaders, perhaps it is Paide, a team with so much potential but always seems to come up short, however games against Flora are much closer in recent games.
Paide are currently in 4th place but are 23 points behind leaders Flora, a season of major inconsistency they are now finally beginning to find some form, being unbeaten in 7 games and showing teams in the league that they can be one of the best.
Flora as previously said haven’t lost in the league for 39 games, in recent games they have been struggling to break teams down but ultimately, they come out on top.
In the top 10 scorers in the league – Flora have 4 players and Paide have 3, so goals are usually a guarantee when these two play, but not against each other as the last 2 games have finished by a 0-0 score line.
Paide lost winger Deabeas to China but have seemed to replace him easily in recent weeks, with young Estonian striker Robi Saarma leading the scoring charts for Paide with 11. Flora have been relying on a mixture of youth and experience with club legend Rauno Alliku leading the way with 10 goals.
Paide have struggled to keep clean sheets this season and it’s something Flora will take not of, Flora meanwhile are more stable at the back, but the threat of the new look Paide front 3 could be a challenge for them. Despite the last 2 games between these 2 finishing 0-0, it’s hard to see this one finishing by that scoreline again, both teams have a rhythm going and it could go either way.

Levadia v Kalju
🏟
Sunday 28th August – 5:30PM KO
A top of the table clash, 2nd vs 3rd and a must win for both teams. Levadia are having a disappointing season, despite being only 3 points behind league leaders Flora, and scoring the joint second highest goals in the league. Levadia were blowing teams away last season, and this year it’s been more of just get the job done. Kalju on the other hand have performed as expected. Best of the rest, but just not good enough to challenge the top 2.
Levadia have won 6 in a row in the league, coming off a drab 3-2 victory against Kuressaare. Levadia were 2-0 down in that game at half time and managed to turn the game around to collect all 3 points. Kalju were disappointing last week against Tammeka only drawing 1-1. Head coach Eddie Cardoso praised Tammeka after the game for how well they played. Kalju do boast the bragging rights of having just recently knocked Levadia out of the cup with a 2-0 victory.
Levadia will be without Rasmus Peetson for this game but do have a full-strength squad to pick from other than that. Kalju have Mikhail Babichev missing through suspension but did welcome back midfielder Dre Fortune back from injury last weekend.
There’s been 20 league games played between these two sides with the outcome being even, with the goals being evenly distributed too. Levadia have taken the spoils in more recent years, but the games remain entertaining and evenly matched.
