Brentford v Everton Match Preview
Brentford head into this fixture having lost just one of their last seven Premier League matches, though four draws in that run have slowed their momentum slightly. Keith Andrews' side remain in contention for a European spot and will be eager to return to winning ways in front of their home support. Their home record has been generally strong, with just three defeats all season, though two of those came in January against Brighton and Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest.
Andrews opted for a more cautious 5-3-2 against Leeds just before the break, a game that ended goalless, and may consider a similar approach here given the injury situation at full back. Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey are both sidelined, while Mikkel Damsgaard is a doubt after picking up a knee injury against Wolves. A familiar front three of Dango Ouattara, Kevin Schade and Thiago is expected.
Everton arrive in better shape, having ended a run of fixtures with a 3-0 win over Chelsea - arguably their most convincing performance of the season. Beto scored twice in that match, with Iliman Ndiaye also on the scoresheet. Before that, a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal had ended a six-match unbeaten run away from home. Of Everton's five away defeats in the Premier League this season, all have come against Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea and Leeds United, suggesting that they tend to reserve their better form for matches against mid-table opposition.
Jack Grealish is the only injury concern, with an otherwise unchanged eleven likely. Jarrad Branthwaite and James Tarkowski are expected to partner at centre back, with James Garner and Idrissa Gueye providing midfield cover.
