St. Pauli v Heidenheim

🏟
Friday 18th March - 5:30PM KO

St. Pauli are clearly in the title challenge race for Bundesliga 2 as they face off against sixth ranked Heidenheim who cannot be counted out for success just yet either. I do believe this will be a home win though.

St. Pauli are second and have secured 48 points from their 26 wins. Just like league leaders Darmstadt and third-ranked Werder Bremen.

St. Pauli’s most recent result was a slightly disappointing 1-1 away draw against Dynamo Dresden. Simon Makienok scored his sixth of the season and is one of the players to watch. He has scored once in all three of the last games played. They did win their two games prior and have lost just one in six. Eight of the last nine games also saw at least three goals in the match.

Heidenheim trail the league leaders by a margin of six points. Heidenheim managed to beat Werder Bremen 2-1, which ended a streak of four games without a win. They were also involved in games with at least two goals in a match scored, in 10 of their last 11 goals. It seems likely that there will be goals and that both sides could find the net.

St. Pauli’s Christopher Buchtmann (17 apps, 2 goals) is doubtful. Max Dittgen and Philipp Ziereis are also out (both have 20 apps), but they should be fairly comfortably replaced by the likes of Marcel Beifus and Eric Smith. I don’t see this as being too much of an issue at home.

Heidenheim’s Marnon Busch (23 apps) is suspended after seeing a red card in the match against Werder Bremen. Regular Patrick Mainka will likely replace him.

Prediction: St. Pauli to Win, 1.90 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)

Erzgebirge Aue v Karlsruher SC

🏟
Friday 18th March – 5:30PM KO

Erzgebirge Aue will most likely have to settle for relegation, but they may still stay up if they manage to build up a good streak. It seems unlikely that they will book a good result against Karlsruher though, the away side themselves look to settle in the midtable.

Aue’s latest result was a decent 1-0 win over Jahn Regensburg. That ended a woeful streak of ten games without winning and was just the fourth win of the season.

Karlsruher’s latest result was also in a match against Jahn Regensburg, they were held to a 1-1 draw at home. They have failed to win their last three, but have also lost just one in their last five league games. They will still want to clinch a few wins, to keep their seven point lead over 16th ranked Dynamo Dresden.

Nikola Trujic is doubtful for the home side. Both Soufiane Messeguem and Omar Sijaric are out. All three have appeared in between 13 and 16 games for Aue so far this season, but they are squad rotation players, if not starters if match fit.

Kyoung-Rok Choi (21 apps, 5 goals) and Marco Thiede (18 apps) are out for Karlsruher. Starter Christoph Kobald missed the previous game, but should be back. I also expect Benjamin Goller to fill in for Choi again, which should be fine for the away side.

Prediction: Karlsruher to Win, 2.40 on Betfair (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️)
