Ashley Young committed 30 fouls across his 19 starts for Everton in the Premier League last season (1.44 per 90). He committed 2+ fouls in eight of these starts (42%) and could be a player that Wrexham look to target here with Leif Davis a doubt to start in the curtain raiser for the 25/26 Championship season.
Young is naturally quite an aggressive player and will line up against either Demarai Gray or Keshi Anderson, both of whom are likely to test the 40 year old regularly. Gray won 30 fouls across his 19 starts in the Saudi Pro League last season (1.58 per 90) whilst Anderson was hauled down an incredible 63 times across just 27 starts in League One last campaign (2.56 per 90).
Either would pose a serious threat to Young who lacks some of the dynamism and pace he once had. Even though Anderson’s numbers are stronger when it comes to winning fouls, we can expect Gray’s foul won record to rise this season seeing as he’s playing at a lower level - Gray averaged 1.83 fouls won per 90 across his 33 appearances when he was last in the Premier League back in the 2022/22 season for Everton.
There is real value when backing this bet with Bet365, the exact same selection is priced as low as 1.4 with other major bookmakers.
