Real Madrid find themselves in a poor run of form, and will be eager to lift themselves to try and close the gap on Barcelona. Excluding that 4-0 loss to their rivals, Los Blancos won all five home league games to start the season, building on an undefeated previous campaign at the Bernabeu.

They eased past Osasuna in both head-to-head matchups last season, winning 4-0 in Madrid, helped by a brace from Jude Bellingham. Carlo Ancelotti’s men also won 4-2 in the reverse fixture at the El Sadar Stadium.

Osasuna find themselves in good form this season, although that is boosted by a stellar home record. They are averaging 2.29 points per game in front of a home support, compared to just 1.0 points per game on the road.

Real have a point to prove, especially after their midweek blunder against AC Milan, and could make a statement victory here.

Villarreal have got off to a flying start in the Spanish top flight this season, posting a record of six wins, three draws, and two losses which puts them third in the standings behind Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Notably, only Celta Vigo and Real Valladolid have conceded more goals than the Yellow Submarine. Both teams have scored in 10 of Villarreal’s 11 league matches this season, as they have only failed to find the net against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

Alaves have been less front-footed in their approach, but they are averaging 2.75 goals per game, with both teams scoring in six of their 12 matches – four of those occurred when playing away.

In addition, both teams have scored in each of the last 11 head-to-head games between Villarreal and Alaves, with two 1-1 scorelines in this matchup last season.

Just four points separate these two sides in the league, as both have endured an underwhelming campaign so far. Sitting narrowly above the drop zone, Leganes and Sevilla should view this as a realistic chance to secure the three points to ease the pressure.

Leganes have experienced an uptick in goals of late, landing this selection in each of their last five games, averaging 4.2 goals per game in that time. The newly-promoted side are averaging 2.33 goals per game over the course of the season so far.

Sevilla have seen over 1.5 goals land in nine of their 12 games so far this campaign, averaging 2.42 goals per game. Last time they travelled to the Municipal Butarque Stadium, they won 3-0, which should fill them with confidence.
