Nantes v PSG

Finding value in PSG matches promises to be challenging given their dominance of Ligue 1, but ahead of a Champions League match with Juventus in midweek, there is promise for them in the half-time/full-time market. 

This is a match that PSG head coach Christophe Galtier will want to kill off quickly in order to replace his star names. It would be surprising to see more than one of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar dropped to the bench – and remember that PSG have already beaten Nantes 4-0 in the Trophee des Champions this season without Mbappe.

Meanwhile, the capital side have been quick starters in their matches this season. In all of their five victories this season, they have been leading at the interval. The sole exception in the six games they have played was the 1-1 draw against Monaco.

Nantes, meanwhile, are still finding their feet a little this term, winning only one of their six fixtures. Although they famously beat PSG at the Stade de la Beaujoire last season, the breath-taking power that they had on the counterattack that day has largely gone, particularly with Moses Simon out injured.

Furthermore, they have not been starting their matches well. They have conceded the first goal in each of their last three and have trailed at the break in their last two. Although they have avoided defeat in those games, coming from behind to beat Toulouse then draw with Strasbourg, PSG would be far more ruthless.
