Maxim De Cuyper was one of the top performing attacking fullbacks in Europe last season with the left back having 40 shots across his 37 appearances for Club Brugge in the Belgian Pro League (1.17 per 90).

This shot record, as well as De Cuyper’s obvious useful traits in the final third, has prompted Fabian Hurzeler to push De Cuyper a bit higher up the pitch, with the Belgian starting at left wing for the last three matches.

This is partly due to Karou Mitoma being sidelined with injury, but De Cuyper has shown promise in this attacking role with two shots across his last three starts where he has been crucially playing in a more advanced position.

De Cuyper is also an asset from set pieces. He takes shooting range free kicks for Brighton, with both of his efforts so far against Wolves and Aston Villa from this avenue finding the target.

He’s very generously priced to have just one shot in this clash against Liverpool on Bet365, with other bookmakers offering this market as low as 1.14 - with this pricing likely factoring in De Cuyper’s more advanced role in recent matches.
