I was really surprised by this price when I came across it while going through the shot markets for this game. There aren’t many players in the Premier League you’d rather back for shots than Salah, and we’re getting a great price on him to have three shots here.

You may quickly be drawn to the fact that Salah didn’t have a shot in this fixture last season, but context is important. That game was played on the 11th May, long after Liverpool had secured the Premier League title. They were 2-0 up inside 21 minutes in that game and coasted throughout the rest of the fixture, allowing Arsenal to come back from that deficit to draw the game 2-2.

Salah had three shots when the sides met at the Emirates earlier in the season; he scored in that game, which was a far more competitive encounter than the meeting at Anfield and also more in line with his average across the season.

Salah took 130 shots in the Premier League last season, which was a total that even eclipsed Erling Haaland's (108). This works out at 3.46 shots per 90. Salah had three shots in Liverpool’s opening game of the season against Bournemouth at Anfield and is also on penalty duties for Liverpool, which can help to aid his shot count here.

Salah plays for a Liverpool side that had 308 shots across their 19 games at Anfield last season, scoring 42 goals in these matches. This works out at 16.2 shots per game, which was the highest home shot average of any side in the Premier League last season. Arsenal conceded 22 shots against Manchester United in their opening game of the season, which was uncharacteristic of Mikel Arteta’s side and may point to a wider issue that Liverpool could more readily expose here through Salah.

There is real value with this selection when backing with bet365, the exact same pick is priced as low as 1.5 with other comparable bookmakers.
