Luke Humphries v Ricardo Pietreczko Best Bets
🎯 Luke Humphries to Win and Hit the Most 180s
Luke Humphries survived an almighty scare in round one against Stephen Bunting. The reigning World Grand Prix champion had to dig deep and stage a dramatic comeback to get the better of ‘The Bullet’. He now faces another potential banana skin against Ricardo Pietreczko, who beat Raymond van Barneveld in round one.
Humphries’ round one wobble should serve as a wake up call, not to mention he could be looking to exact some revenge after losing to Pietreczko at last month’s Flanders Darts Trophy. With ‘Cool Hand’ unbackable at the prices on offer, instead look to him to triumph alongside hitting the most 180s. Humphries has hit a PDC-high 736 maximums over the past 12 months. This bet would have paid out when the pair met at the World Matchplay back in July, as well as their clash at the World Darts Championship at the tail end of 2023.
🎯 Over 1.5 Ricardo Pietreczko 180s
While Humphries is fancied to win and hit the most 180s, Pietreczko is an appealing prospect to chip in with at least two maximums of his own. ‘Pikachu’ is not exactly renowned for being a prolific 180 hitter, but he did hit three in his 2-1 win over van Barneveld on Monday. He also managed to fire in a sizable seven maximums when defeating Humphries at the semi-final stage of the Flanders Darts Trophy last month.
On top of this, Pietreczko scored two or more 180s in each of his two meetings with ‘Cool Hand’ at the most recent editions of both the World Matchplay and World Darts Championship respectively. With that in mind, a minimum of two maximums is entirely plausible for Pietreczko on Wednesday night, even alongside the likelihood of a defeat.
