It goes without saying that Luke Littler is understandably too short to support as a single selection, but we can back him to deliver five or more 180s at a much more palatable price.

Littler is well known for being the most lethal 180 hitter on the planet, evidenced by the fact that he has racked up a whopping 886 maximums on the PDC circuit this year. To put that figure into context, Beau Greaves is second on the 180 leaderboard with 667 maximums to her name, further highlighting Littler’s ridiculous strike rate when it comes to filling up the treble-20 bed.

On top of all that, Littler is a showman and will be keen to get the Ally Pally crowd on their feet at any given opportunity on Thursday night. That was certainly the case during his round one win over Ryan Meikle in last year’s competition, when Littler crashed in 10 180s en route to a 3–1 victory, and we’re only asking him to deliver half of that amount this time around.

Not only is Luke Littler reliable on the 180 front, but he is also one of the best in the business when it comes to taking out big checkouts. The Nuke’s remarkable consistency in filling up the treble 20 bed frequently puts him in a strong position to take out three-figure finishes, including 9-dart legs, and he also loves to reel in the “Big Fish” 170 checkout.

The teenage sensation delivered 100+ checkouts in four of his six victories en route to Players Championship glory last month. On top of that, Littler took out 145 when seeing off Danny Noppert in the semi-finals of the Grand Slam of Darts, while he produced a roof-raising 167 finish when defeating Luke Humphries in the final.

With that in mind, the world number one looks well placed to hit two or more 100+ checkouts in his round-one opener against Darius Labanauskas.
