With their six-point deduction starting to weigh heavy and a run of 12 Premier League fixtures without a victory denting their survival hopes, things are looking bleak for the Toffees, and their chances of snapping their poor run in the north east this week seem slim.
Newcastle meanwhile, who have lost only twice in thirteen games on Tyneside, will be hoping to use their strong home form as a springboard for a strong finish to the campaign and anything other than another win this week will be seen as a major disappointment.
As per the usual routine, we’ve compiled a list of Newcastle vs Everton stats for the game which contains all the need-to-know nuggets of info you need to enter the bet builder markets with confidence. You’ll also find plenty of bet builder tips below to offer a further guiding hand.

🏆 Match stats: Everton take poor form to the north east
Seamus Coleman’s calamitous 91st-minute own goal at Bournemouth on Saturday consigned Everton to their third defeat in a row and their fifth loss in seven away assignments in the Premier League, extending their winless run in the division to 12 games in the process.
With relegation fears starting to rise and confidence levels starting to sink, the Toffees’ proud top-tier status looks under major threat and Newcastle cut put another nail in their coffin on Tuesday evening.
The Magpies left it late to see off West Ham (4-3) in a dramatic comeback win a couple of hours before Everton lost at the Vitality Stadium and that was Newcastle’s 10th win in 15 Premier League fixtures at St. James’ Park this season.
Tyneside has been a very happy hunting ground for Eddie Howe’s men this term, while games there have also been reliably entertaining with over 2.5 goals landing in 73% of Newcastle’s league games on home soil since August.
With Newcastle so formidable at St. James’ Park and Everton’s winless streak trundling on, backing the Magpies to win on Tuesday is the favoured approach, while adding over 2.5 goals to your coupons could also pay dividends.
With so many key defenders out injured, Newcastle – who conceded two or more goals in six of their last seven league games – are unlikely to keep a clean sheet, though they have enough firepower at the other end to compensate.
Predictions:
⚽ Newcastle to win @ 1.95
⚽ Over 2.5 goals @ 1.53
🎯 Shooting stats: Barnes, Isak and Calvert-Lewin catch the eye
Former Everton starlet Anthony Gordon was given his marching orders for two bookable offences on Saturday, ruling the winger out of Tuesday’s game through suspension, though Harvey Barnes is a more than suitable replacement on the left flank for Newcastle.
The ex-Leicester man has had his fitness problems this season, though Barnes made a stunning impact off the bench against West Ham, finding the net twice from four efforts on target to turn the contest on its head for the Magpies.
With his confidence likely to be surging following that sensational brace, Barnes won’t hesitate to let fly at goal again and the 26-year-old looks like a useful pickup in the 1+ shots on target stakes as a consequence.
Barnes’s foil in attack, Alexander Isak, also notched twice against West Ham on Saturday, taking the slick Swede’s recent tally up to seven goals in eight Premier League appearances. Isak’s speed should trouble a one-paced Everton centre-back pairing of James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, and the 24-year-old is a keen price to either score or assist again.
For Everton, attacking focal point Dominic Calvert-Lewin is the most backable shot market candidate, despite the striker’s lengthy spell without a goal.
The 27-year-old landed a shot on target for the third Premier League fixture running when he tested Bournemouth stopper Neto at the weekend, and Calvert-Lewin’s knack for taking up threatening penalty-area positions could allow him to repeat that feat against Newcastle.
Predictions:
⚽ Harvey Barnes to have 1+ shots on target @ 1.44
⚽ Alexander Isak to score or assist @ 1.73
⚽ Dominic Calvert-Lewin to have 1+ shots on target @ 1.30
🚩 Corners stats: Everton represent better value
Newcastle managed to win only three corners in their dramatic triumph over West Ham on Saturday and that modest haul was in keeping with the Magpies’ low corner-winning pattern across the campaign.
Indeed, only four teams have won fewer corners than Newcastle at home this season and United earned four or fewer corners in 80% of their last ten Premier League fixtures since the turn of the year.
That trend opens up an opportunity in the market for braver bettors to back Everton to win more corners than their hosts at St. James’ Park on Tuesday evening.
Despite losing on each occasion, Everton won eight corners in their last two league fixtures at Bournemouth and Manchester United respectively, while the Toffees also won the count 5-2 against Newcastle in the teams’ reverse league encounter in December.
Everton also rank a respectable 8th for average corners won per away game this season (4.60), so there is plenty to go on here. For a safer alternative, it might be worthwhile backing Everton to win four or more corners for the 12th time in 16 Premier League outings.
Predictions:
⚽ Everton corner match bet @ 3.0
⚽ Over 3.5 Everton corners @ 1.50
🛑 Fouls stats: Tarkowski, Onana, and Longstaff likely candidates
Battle-hardened centre-half James Tarkowski has been one of Everton’s most reliable performers this season, though the 31-year-old does tend to toil against pace.
With the raiding runs of rapid duo Alexander Isak and Harvey Barnes likely to cause moments of discomfort for the veteran defender, Tarkowski looks like a prime foul market contender on Tuesday.
Tarkowski has fouled at least once in 11 of his last 13 appearances in the league and at least twice in a further seven of the same games, so back him to sin at least once again at St. James’ Park.
Ball-winning midfielder Amadou Onana meanwhile, is one for shortlists in the 2+ foul stakes. The Belgian has already committed two or more fouls in ten separate Premier League fixtures this season and on Tuesday, he will occupy the same spaces as Newcastle’s most-fouled player, Bruno Guimaraes.
While Newcastle’s Brazilian Guimaraes is likely to feature as a foul market option on plenty of bet builder coupons himself, his midfield counterpart, Sean Longstaff, looks like a more attractive under-the-radar choice at a better price.
Longstaff fouled twice against West Ham on Saturday and the 26-year-old has given away at least one free kick in 70% of his last ten Premier League runouts overall.
Despite the consistency of his stats in that direction, Longstaff isn’t often viewed through the same combative lens as players like Bruno Guimaraes or Joelinton, so take advantage of his keener prices.
Predictions:
⚽ James Tarkowski to commit 1+ fouls @ 1.30
⚽ Amadou Onana to commit 2+ fouls @ 1.80
⚽ Sean Longstaff to commit 1+ fouls @ 1.50
