The 87-figure has been earned by a pair of solid efforts, versus two promising types, at Redcar and Newcastle. He is unlikely to bump into anything of that calibre here, and is expected to get off the mark on fourth career outing. Weffaag would be a danger, if attracting market support, having finished downfield on sole run at Newmarket.

APACHE TRIBE can deliver a winning stable debut, following an impressive maiden hurdle win at this track over an extended 2m4f. The Jukebox Jury gelding was expected to head to the G1 Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham but plans must have changed. If he is to live up to Grade One ambitions, I would anticipate he is up to landing this race - especially with the soft conditions in his favour.

LOVE OF NEYMORE holds genuine each-way credentials, for this mares’ event over an extended three miles. The three-time hurdle winner has won over a similar distance at Chepstow this term, and has performed with credit subsequently. She wasn’t beaten far last time, despite finishing 4th of six at Ludlow, and she could find improvement in first-time cheekpieces.

SHOUT is in with just that, for this prestigious handicap over a mile. The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained Advertise gelding is a three-time winner, who has the potential to find further improvement, following a highly successful 2025 season - including an Ascot handicap win at this level. Despite this being a thoroughly competitive event, I’m hopeful of a positive run, with this course winner a place contender.

GIT MAKER was an incredibly frustrating each-way selection in this column, last time at Haydock. The Jamie Snowden-trained veteran ran on powerfully for 5th that time, and would have arguably won in another furlong. The rise to this extreme stamina test will only help, and he is only a pound above his last winning mark. Watch out for him keeping on strongly for at least a placing at fair odds.

STANAGE is lurking from a potentially dangerous mark of 75, having won from 84 last season. The Kingman gelding ought to come on plenty for his reappearance 7th, too, having certainly caught the eye. He was given a sympathetic ride, and I believe that he could have finished much closer to the principles. Any market move could be interesting.
