Aberdeen look well placed to score a minimum of one goal on Sunday afternoon. Jimmy Thelin’s side have scored at least once in 13 of their 16 Scottish Premiership home games this season, hitting multiple goals in eight of those matches. That 16-game sample includes a home game with Rangers earlier this season, with the Dons striking twice on that occasion. 

Aberdeen are more than capable of repeating the trick this weekend, given how shaky Rangers’ defence has been this season. The Light Blues' backline has failed to keep the backdoor shut in 12 of their 16 league games away from home this season, conceding multiple goals in each of their last three domestic matches away from Ibrox.

Sunday’s Scottish Premiership showdown between Aberdeen and Rangers should offer plenty of entertainment if the visitors’ recent away games are anything to go by. Rangers’ three Scottish Premiership road trips under Barry Ferguson’s watch have produced 6, 5 and 7 match goals, respectively. In fact, 10 of the Light Blues’ last 12 league games away from Ibrox have broken the over 2.5 goal barrier, one of which was at this venue.

As for Aberdeen, 10 of their 16 Scottish Premiership home games this season have featured a minimum of three match goals, including five of their last seven. It’s also worth noting that there were exactly three goals when these two foes last crossed paths in the top-flight at Ibrox back in January.

Look to Rangers to earn a minimum of six corners at Ibrox on Sunday. The Glasgow giants are averaging 6.85 corners per 90 in the Scottish Premiership this season. Rangers hit exactly six corners on their previous visit to Pittodrie this season before racking up 10 when hosting Aberdeen at the turn of the year. It's also worth pointing out that Rangers covered the proposed 6+ flag-kick line in their recent away day at Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Aberdeen, on the other hand, are giving up 5.75 corners per game in the Scottish top-flight this term. The Dons had to defend no fewer than eight corner kicks last weekend when going up against a Ross County side that are currently involved in the battle to avoid relegation.

In a fixture where it is not uncommon to see tensions boil over, Graeme Shinnie could be the one to watch from a cards perspective. The Aberdeen captain’s combative streak has often landed him in trouble with referees throughout his career. In fact, Shinnie collected his seventh yellow card of the season during Aberdeen’s 1-0 win at Ross County last weekend.

The Dons ace - who is averaging 1.54 fouls per game in the Scottish Premiership this season - has recently been shifted out to left back by manager Jimmy Thelin. As such, Shinnie may have no choice but to up his aggression on Sunday afternoon, given that he could be in a direct battle with Rangers star man Vaclav Cerny, who earned his side a free kick against Athletic Bilbao on Thursday night.
