Burton Albion v Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers continued their outstanding run of form with a 3-2 win over Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium on Saturday. Declan John, Marlon Fossey and Amadou Bakayoko popped up with the goals as the Trotters made it six wins from seven in the third tier.
Kieran Lee was forced off early in the first half and will likely miss the trip to Burton. However, Ian Evatt has great depth in central midfield areas and will have Dapo Afolayan fresh and raring to go after he was only utilised from the bench at the weekend.
The Brewers have won just one of their last six with their season fizzling out a touch, ten points above the relegation zone but also 13 off of the play-offs sat in 13th. Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink’s men have not been finishing their chances anywhere near as clinically as Bolton of late, and in that they will be hoping to do some damage under the lights.
Bolton overperformed to net five times from 1.94 expected goals (xG) last week and could see a regression if they do not create higher quality chances in the coming weeks.
Burton on the other hand have scored just six times from 11.37 xG in their last six matches. An unsustainable underperformance that may well swing in their favour on Tuesday evening. Two sides who have been regularly creating chances in recent weeks, could play out a cracker at the Pirelli Stadium.

Wigan Athletic v Crewe Alexandra
Wigan Athletic have been flat track bullies in League One this season, and they boast a two point cushion inside the automatic promotion places, with four games in hand on third and fourth as a result.
Crewe are in a perilous position, nine points from safety and despite some smart moves in the January transfer window, it looks to be too little too late for David Artell’s men. The Railwaymen are winless in six, have lost their last five on the bounce and have conceded eight goals in their last two outings.
The Latics were comfortably the better team after going behind against Charlton Athletic early on at the weekend, and turned it around thanks to goals from Will Keane and Stephen Humphrys.
Jordan Cousins and Charlie Wyke remain sidelined, but Keane’s return at the weekend was very significant. The market is very strong on Wigan going into this match and therefore getting a comfortable win onside appears to be the strongest angle in.
However, to cover the chances of Crewe netting a consolation goal or a surprise early one as the Addicks did on Saturday. This selection focuses on the Latics preying on Crewe’s lacklustre backline which is the third worst in the division.
