FC Copenhagen v Manchester City
🏟
Tuesday 11th October – 5:45PM KO
Manchester City are entering their away match in Copenhagen as massive favourites. The Citizens won 5-0 at home in the previous meeting between the two sides, and a similar result is expected here.
The Danish champions aren’t entering this fixture in good shape. 12 games into the Danish Superliga, they are sitting 7th, and they have already lost more league games than they did the entire last season. This recently led the board to sack head coach Jess Thorup and replace him with 34-year-old Jacob Neestrup. Since then, Copenhagen have collected four points in their two Superliga games and then suffered the 5-0 defeat to Man City in the previous Champions League match. Copenhagen didn’t play a good game in the weekend though as they drew 1-1 against FC Nordsjælland, and they are furthermore missing star players Denis Vavro and Andreas Cornelius to injuries.
While the hosts are struggling, Manchester City continues to steamroll their opponents. They have won six games across all tournaments in a row and scored a staggering 24 goals in these matches. Saturday, they demolished Southampton 4-0 in the Premier League. Although City are huge favourites here, Pep Guardiola is expected to field the best possible starting lineup and thus show no mercy. Manchester City will have to do without the injured Kyle Walker, Kalvin Philips and John Stones though.
Finding value in a match with such a big favourite as this one is never easy. However, we expect Man City to score plenty of goals, and odds 1.30 at Betfair on over 2.5 goals is actually nicely paid. In the previous meeting, Copenhagen goalkeeper Kamil Grabara set a Champions League record for most saves in a single match. He’s unlikely to be as good again.

Celtic v RB Leipzig
🏟
Tuesday 11th October – 8:00PM KO
It will need to be another special European night at Parkhead if Celtic are to prolong their hopes of qualifying in the Champions League after losing 3-1 to RB Leipzig last week in Germany. They were thoroughly competitive in that match, and only a gross, uncharacteristic error from goalkeeper Joe Hart gave the Bundesliga outfit a comfortable margin of success.
Certainly, Celtic will fancy themselves in this match, despite mediocre recent form. They struggled to overcome St Johnstone 2-1 away from home on Saturday, but it should be noted that they kept ace forward Kyogo Furuashi on the bench in that match, suggesting they want to preserve that Japan international for this match.
Crucially, Celtic are liable to look a lot stronger defensively, with Cameron Carter-Vickers back fit, although Moritz Jens is now a doubt and midfielder Callum McGregor is missing.
Leipzig, meanwhile, are being overestimated coming into this match. The Bundesliga side have failed to win any of their six away matches in all competition this season, losing four of these. The potency they have shown at home, meanwhile, has been absolutely absent. They have scored only three times in six road trips and have conceded 13 goals.
In front of a big Celtic crowd, a motivated and well-rested home side, this will be a major test for the visitors and as a value bet, backing the hosts to spring an upset has plenty of attractive value.

AC Milan v Chelsea
🏟
Tuesday 11th October – 8:00PM KO
This is an absolutely huge game for AC Milan in the context of their season. After being in a superb position in their Champions League group in comparison to Chelsea, the 3-0 win for the Premier League side last week threw everything into doubt.
Another defeat here would mean that the pressure is really piled onto the Rossoneri for the final two fixtures of the group stage against Dinamo Zagreb and RB Salzburg. They were quick to put the previous Chelsea defeat behind them as they beat Juventus 2-0 at San Siro on Saturday evening, exerting some serious dominance over the Bianconeri in the process.
That is great preparation for this match against Chelsea and Stefano Pioli’s side will need to forget almost everything that they did in the reverse fixture. They were totally flat and invited pressure from the hosts, which completely took their own strengths out of the equation.
This time, they need to go at Chelsea and try to get ahead as soon as possible. Milan absolutely have the ability to cause Chelsea serious issues at the back but they didn’t show it at all at Stamford Bridge. The likes of Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud have got a huge amount to prove in this game and a win would put them in a really strong position to go through.
The exact same can be said for Chelsea who know the value of a win here and also know that they can break Milan down. For that reason, expect an attacking approach from both teams, resulting in goals at both ends if we’re lucky.
