The former WBC featherweight world champion is now looking to mount a charge towards the lightweight world title, and he impressed on his return to 135lbs last time out, as he knocked out Feargal McCrory.

Meanwhile, Andres Cortes is undefeated and scored a win over Eridson Garcia earlier this year, which has aged like a fine wine.

Although Cortes has had a few close calls in his career thus far, I believe that Magsayo will be the one to go a step further and end the Las Vegas native’s 25-fight unbeaten streak, with his boxing IQ being the difference maker.

Alexis Rocha is continuing his comeback trail after a knockout defeat to Giovani Santillan derailed his planned world title bid.

Former unified super-lightweight world champion Jose Carlos Ramirez looks to be a well-selected dance partner here, looking flat-footed when comprehensively outboxed by Devin Haney 16 months ago.

Admittedly, Haney is a level above Rocha, but it’s hard to envisage 34-year-old Ramirez being able to roll back the years and score a first win since April 2024 against a more-than-capable Rocha.
