The bright lights of the O2 Arena in London gives us a fight between the big men to look at this weekend, which will also be shown on DAZN. It is 12-rounder between two long-time gatekeepers in the heavyweight division as England’s perennial contender Dereck Chisora (32-12, 23 KO’s) faces a challenge from Bulgarian veteran Kubrat Pulev (29-2, 14 KO’s).

Dereck Chisora
I am not sure how many more times I need to say it, but the end is nigh for the 38-year-old Chisora. He was put to the floor four times in his last fight rematch against Joseph Parker, who for some inconceivable reason, was reluctant to apply the “coup de grace” and end it all. The contentious close scoring from the judges means Chisora gets another opportunity to top the bill in a big arena. Does he deserve it? Probably not, but here we are. Prior to the Parker fights he was thoroughly dominated by the current WBA/IBF/WBO champion Oleksandr Usyk and had good fortune there in that the southpaw Usyk damaged his left hand when having Chisora in trouble during the fourth stanza. Once again silly scoring from a couple of judges had it close.
Kubrat Pulev
It is strange for a man who is three years older, but Pulev is without doubt the fresher of the two. He has only ever been beaten by Wladimir Klitschko and Anthony Joshua. Although fortunate not to get stopped by AJ in the third round, Pulev gave AJ plenty to think about for a couple of rounds after until the Brit finally got to grips with Pulev and got it over in the ninth. All the other contenders out there have avoided him, and he came back from a long break a couple of months ago and appeared as fresh as a daisy when winning routinely against Jerry Forrest.
Dereck Chisora v Kubrat Pulev 2 Heavyweight Boxing Fight Betting Preview & Tips
We always expect knockdowns in the heavyweight division. So, the pertinent stats are that Chisora has registered 22 knockdowns and has been on the canvas eight times in his fifteen-year career. Pulev only has 12 knockdowns and has suffered only four visits to the canvas in his thirteen years as a pro. Interesting to note is that five opponents have taken sufficient punishment that they have retired after a round has ended.
This is also a rematch, but with a six-year gap and quite a few fights in between. Last time Pulev won easily by decision, and although both are not in the first flush of youth, Chisora is the one who has regressed much more. Chisora will no doubt try to start quickly, but Pulev will like that, he doesn’t mind fighters that come to him. So don’t be surprised to see Chisora score a knockdown. However, as we have seen before Chisora will tire quickly and although Joseph Parker never took advantage, I feel Pulev will be ruthless enough to bring an end to proceedings, and the career of a brave contender. I would not rule out an end of round retirement with Chisora sat on his stool.
After taking all the above into consideration I have found a couple of fun plays which are available at Paddy Power, of which you can decide to play either, it is up to you.
